I just want to register my appreciation of Facility's posts here.   He has never tried to limit anyone's freedom to express their opinion here,  and sometimes offers punchy observations that raise invective to an art form.   And Kid has no lofty position from which he can whine about insults, given his penchant for snide and patronizing remarks.   The KCarterian "I know you have trouble understanding..." is more insulting than "go fuck yourself. "

"As a country, we're doing the clinical research during this time, not inhibiting the use of physicians from being able to use this with their patients," Birx said. "But also recognizing that those two things can happen in parallel [is important]."

Wisconsin Democrats wanted to extend absentee voting and even postpone the election altogether, but Republicans successfully blocked both in court. As a result, Democratic turnout is likely to be depressed because of the virus and the deadlines for absentee voting. A crucial seat on the State Supreme Court is on the ballot.

Why is it DEMOCRAT voting will be suppressed while Republican will not?  Is this due only to the fact more Democrats were slated to vote absentee?

Dems tend to be concentrated in cities, and concentrations of people = more virus spread.  So the high risk areas are where more Dem voters are.
And if you set up fewer polling places, that'll affect the cities and depress Dem turnout disproportionately.  It's safer to exit your dwelling and vote in the suburbs and safest in rural areas.
But you knew all that.

Meadows begins West Wing shakeup

McEnany rose to prominence during the 2016 campaign when CNN began featuring her regularly as it sought to add voices supportive of Trump’s upstart candidacy to its roster of more traditional pundits. She eventually became a contributor at the network and left in August 2017 to become national spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee. McEnany joined Trump’s reelection campaign early last year.

It's as if you didn't bother to read your own post, asshole.

"Republicans, wary of affording new powers to a Democratic governor and content with suppressing turnout in urban centers where the coronavirus has struck hardest, refused to entertain proposals for relief."
and
"As a result, thousands of poll workers said they wouldn’t show up, leading to major reductions in the number of polling sites, particularly in cities like Milwaukee. In Green Bay, there are usually about 31 polling locations, but on Tuesday there were just two. Though roughly 2,400 National Guardsmen were being trained as poll workers as late as Monday, it still won’t come close to the more than 7,000 who have already said they cannot work."

I assure you disingenuous bullshit like yours is far more problematic than foul language is.

I've been asking the same of you for ages.

But it's hilarious that you think "asshole" is a bigger insult than "disingenuous" or "sea lion."

Will less Republicans be voting or not?

Fewer Republicans will be voting than might otherwise have voted, as, among other factors, they too will have not received absentee ballots that they ordered.

But you knew that, asshole. "Is this due only to the fact more Democrats were slated to vote absentee?"

You were also told about the fact that the pandemic is worse in the cities.

And you've also been told that members of your party take the issue less seriously on average; therefore they are more likely to go out to vote without giving a damn about potential consequences.

We'll see how badly suppressed the total vote is, but it should have been delayed. The failure of the system to get people's absentee ballots to them ought to have been reason enough to delay things. The risk to the public ought to have been reason enough to delay things. The need to shutter a huge majority of polling places in cities due to lack of workers should have been reason enough to delay things.

But your party is happier when there are fewer total voters.
