President Donald Trump claimed the “total” authority to decide how and when to reopen the economy

Pretty funny after he abdicated responsibility and left it up to states to decide what measures to take and scramble on their own for equipment.
The States hAve more power to institute quarantines than the Federal Government and no state was denied federal help in obtaining needed equipment.

First half true.

Second half bogus.

Cuomo says today that he is fine with this.  It's a SHIFT - but Trump can in fact take charge of this.  The governor is just wants to discuss a plan.  What IS the plan?  Well - stay tuned, GOV.  Decisions haven't been made yet.

The economy IS tied into "people's health".  You need to understand this if you want to continue to have any kind of credibility.

Since there has been no coordinated national response, these regional alliance make sense.  Could have happened sooner if the states knew they were going to be left on their own.  NYC metro area just cries out for multi-state coordination.

Cuomo is making it pretty clear today that he doesnt want a national response

Feds had the time todo a nationwide coordinated response and pissed away two months.

There’s no getting around that. If I’m Cuomo i tell Trump to lead, follow or get the fuck out of the way.

Trump and the GOP are out of their depth.

Do yourself a favor. Go make a drink and analyze the story arc on Days of Our Lives and report.

That would be more enlightening than your “political analysis.”

The President's senior advisers Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump will not participate, Trump told reporters on Monday. The disclosure caught some of his aides by surprise because the President's son-in-law and daughter were expected by some to be involved.

The President has described the task force members as "the best names in various businesses and professions and religions."

"These are the greatest names, the people I think probably know the best," Trump said. "We called them and we're going to be speaking to them very soon and we want them to have, if it's questions or statements, we want them to have that for us."

I am sure this will work as well as that partnership with Walgreens, Walmart, Target, and CVS that we heard about in the Rose Garden a few weeks ago.

Larry - you are bringing very little to the table here.

I'll see you in about a week - maybe.

Have to wonder if CNN or MSNBC will be playing any tape from Trump's meeting today with COVID-19 survivors.

By the way, Trump called hydroxychloroquine "just one alternative" during the meeting - mentioning Remdesivir as well as other drugs on the way.

Thankfully US doctors took what they had and used it - saving many many lives (see Mark Campbell, former teammate of Brady's at Michigan) - while waiting for trials and other remedies to pop up.

In fact the "malaria drug", as many refer to it as - is available in most hospitals across the nation - and of course now in great supply (lupus sufferers, do not fret)

Uh, they call it a malaria drug because that's what it was approved for, that's why it exists, that's what it was used for for decades before other uses were found.

Not exactly a mystery or disparagement.

Obama endorses Biden

How big an impact do you think this has?

Had Obama not endorsed Clinton, would she have won the popular vote in 2016?
