I suspect that now that they've gotten their SC appointments there won't be as many (R) voters turning out in 2020.

Older Republicans will get to a polling station if it means crawling on their knees on boiling road tar while being chewed alive by rabid raccoons.  It's one of the very few things I admire about them.   Hot button issues stay hot in the GOP universe.

Those are some of the votes the GOP is inadvertently suppressing by encouraging them to show up in person to church.

If a disproportionate chunk of the GOP’s most ardent and passionate cadre of supporters self-rapture across the nation over the next few months, what does that do to the shape of the electorate?

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/17/us/jacksonville-florida-beach-reopen/index.html

Ninnies. Fools. Numbskulls.

"A Republican, (Larry) Curry formerly served as chairman of the Republican Party of Florida and co-founded the professional services firm ICX Group."

There have been political fools from the Democratic Party in this crisis, but the GOP far outweighs them in number and percentage, both.

Larry Curry should be recalled immediately.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/17/politics/coronavirus-testing-trump-pence-democrats/index.html

Bad phone call with Pence.

Is there any form of communication with Pence that doesn’t rate as bad? The numbers seem to indicate he may very well be in charge of the federal government’s Coronavirus response. Just like the needles in Indiana a while back. Experience counts. Bigly!

But if black people don’t do that for every election then we ‘didn’t want it more.’ Every time a Democrat loses the first thing they say is blacks didn’t turnout even though we make up 12% of the nation.

Kentucky says must have Voter ID but the agency that issues those credentials is closed.

Trumpists believe that Bill Gates is using the coronavirus to plant chips into people's brains.

You just cannot make this bullshit up.

We really need to revive the phrase "lunatic fringe. "

(it actually meant a hairstyle until Teddy R coined the modern meaning)

Despite being founded by M.B. Eddy I don't think the Monitor was ever a "religious" newspaper, nor did it ever really promote Christian Science doctrine.

Looking over the newspapers of the day, one naturally reflects that it is dangerous to live, so loaded with disease seems the very air. These descriptions carry fears to many minds, to be depicted in some future time upon the body. A periodical of our own will counteract to some extent this public nuisance; for through our paper, at the price at which we shall issue it, we shall be able to reach many homes with healing, purifying thought...

-- MBE

Later,  yes,  its mission became straight news and investigative journalism, separate from the CCS.   I have a weird fragment of memory from my childhood, my parents and I were on Mass Ave in Boston and we walked into the Monitor lobby.  There was this huge metal globe of the world which blew my tiny mind.   I had a flaky aunt (just the one) who was a Christian Scientist.
