One of my regrets on this forum is that I aggravate you, YG.  You have always been a decent sort.

Well that explains the aggravation.

Millions of hogs and cattle euthanized

Sad.

You know that's the process by which,  normally, burgers and bacon arrive on your plate,  right?

Descriptive and sexist are not synonyms.

Meanwhile, kiid's DEAR LEADER has toted up the moral points and determined that meat packing workers are expendable.
Actually he said just the opposite.
But you already knew that.
"Said" is irrelevant.
LOL.
Thanks for playing.
You are once again admitting the point by ducking it. Trump has called the industry vital but he is treating the workers as fungible.

Lol. Your TDS is making you silly

The industry has failed to implement social distancing that would protect workers,  and says it cannot slow the line down to make safe spacing possible.   Your cretin leader accepted that,  and is happy to cram them all back in there elbow to elbow, with superficial fixes as window dressing.   The derangement is all yours,  dipshit.

Ohhhh, that Mike....

Yeah, it's so funny when somebody who is supposedly a national leader flouts the rules of the institution he's visiting and is filmed explaining why he is special, rather than why he should have heeded the medical guideline.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

The GOP is trying to kill as many Americans as possible.

Yeah, because high deaths = votes

Ask Lyndon J.

Who’s doing the dying?

Who do you think work in the meat processing plants?

Most of those folks wouldn’t vote GOP anyway and the nursing home cohort already voted GOP and culling them will save a mint in Social Security and Medicare costs.

Grow up, boy.

New record high in number of deaths, 7% above the old one and more than 25% higher than the "peak" that was predicted for almost a week ago.

If we get lucky and today is the peak and the next 9 days are no worse than the last 9 then we will finish April with 65,000 dead, and ultimately as little as 90k. That would be a blessing, no matter how awful it is as a raw number of dead.

Unfortunately, while there are reasons to see the total cases beginning to level off and maybe deaths, too - maybe - I don't think the latter group has peaked.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/22/health/us-coronavirus-wednesday/index.html

I am more than a bit confused.

They've adjusted their projected death toll up to 66,000 by August.

We're at 45,000 now and had 19,000+ in the last 9 days, with a new record high yesterday. If we merely match the last 9 days, we'll be at 64,000+ by the start of May and they're talking 66,000 in August?!

Well once numbers fall below a thousand a day.......

There will be quibbles over exact counts anyway - be sure the Dems will be tacking on to the total - saying there were X amount purposely "uncounted" or unincluded" .

This is why talks of body counts are not only morbid but downright stupid.

Here we are, a week after the earlier post.

59,266 dead (officially) in the US. Two more days like today would put us at 64,206.

Talks of body counts may be morbid, but they are only "downright stupid" to people who don't understand the power or utility of forecasting.

Re:  meat shortage being framed as food shortage,  gmafb.  People trying to make dinner out of sawdust and nettles and tree bark during the Siege of Leningrad is a food shortage.   Having a meal without meat so you open the canned beans and cook some rice,  or whatever, is not.   The idea that having our meals be less entertainment to our taste buds is so profound a threat that we have to risk thousands of worker's lives is a precious and spoiled attitude that a five year old can see through.   The companies,  like Smithfield,  are not going to slow down the line to where carvers can be spaced safely.

It's all about the propoganda.

Dont believe it?  Listen to your legislators who call your President a murderer daily.
