https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html

Quote
Coronavirus Disease 2019 Basics

A novel coronavirus is a new coronavirus that has not been previously identified. The virus causing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is not the same as the coronaviruses that commonly circulate among humans and cause mild illness, like the common cold.

A diagnosis with coronavirus 229E, NL63, OC43, or HKU1 is not the same as a COVID-19 diagnosis. Patients with COVID-19 will be evaluated and cared for differently than patients with common coronavirus diagnosis.

At what point will you concede that Trump, et al. are rank incompetents?

Probably when I lose the ability to reason.  I don't fault those without such ability - just those that have it and refuse to even try to see how tough the task at hand was/is.

Out of the ame mouths come, "this is a NOVEL virus - we don't know day to day how it could turn" and "How could Trump not be handling this virus"?

Dealt such a ridiculously tough hand, but many think he should have turned it into a full house with no problem

Not accurate?

Likely you are at least partially right.

Then we are left with - IT'S POLITICAL.

It’s a CULT.

Just too funny for words

”They are literally willing to die from this clusterf---ed COVID response rather than admit absolutely anybody other than him [Trump] would have been a better president,” she wrote. “And when whiteness has a death wish, we are all in for a serious problem.”

Show me the lie!

OF COURSE it is hard. It is supposed to be hard. If it was easy anyone can do it. The hard is what makes it.great.

Trump was ill-prepared, unconcerned and flippant until the disaster struck. He is responsible for his conduct and his choices. And his words

No. Being dealt a bad hand does not.excuse displaying it and making it worse. I realize you cannot conceive of fault in your DEAR LEADER but that is not relevant to any other soul on God's good earth.

Peter Strzok blocked FBI from closing Flynn investigation after it found no 'derogatory information'

By Jerry Dunleavy
Washington Examiner
April 30, 2020 - 3:50 PM

Now-fired special agent Peter Strzok stopped the FBI from closing its investigation into retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn in early January 2017 after uncovering “no derogatory information” on the incoming Trump national security adviser, according to newly released records.

Emails later that month show Strzok, along with then-FBI lawyer Lisa Page and others, sought out ways to continue investigating Flynn, including an email from Strzok admitting that he wanted to use a defensive debriefing of Flynn as a “pretext," after the bureau moved to shut down the case.
The disclosures are among the trove of redacted FBI documents, emails, and text messages released on Thursday that have been touted by Flynn's lawyers as exculpatory evidence heretofore concealed from the defense team.

Trump: All these Democratic governors are complaining about testing to make me look bad!

Christopher Nassetta, president and CEO of the Hilton hotel company: "of course we worry about it." Customers are "desperate" to get back out and travel, he said, but want safety. He continued: "...Our customers are saying they're looking for the government, both state and federal government, to focus on testing so that they understand, you know, what real mortality rates are..."

We Are Losing Lives Because Of This Shutdown’: Heather Mac Donald On Why ‘Irrational’ Coronavirus ‘Paranoia’ Can Be Deadly

https://dailycaller.com/2020/04/29/heather-mac-donald-coronavirus-fears-shutdown/

Mac donald expailned that when people don’t get needed hospital treatment, defer procedures, or are scared to go to hospitals, things can break down in other ways, including more drug abuse and “deaths of despair.”

Calling the economy the “very essence of life,” Mac Donald called the shutdowns a “massive overreaction” when most people “face almost no risk.”

So the lame fall back is it was a really tough hand Trump was dealt.

Every step of the way, every month of this year, Trump fucked up, was stuck in 1st gear and got little or nothing done.  Astounding how long it took to get reliable tests  to anywhere in the US.  Astounding that there's still a shortage of such fucking simple things as masks, and cotton swabs.  Amazing how insanely long it took to stop lying to the public and start advocating mask wearing.  CDC was useless and actually harmful.  Health Secretary and Surgeon General and Redfield at CDC were useless.

Trump downplayed the virus and treated it as a political issue, then bizarrely started turning the daily Health briefings into campaigning.
It's been incompetence down the line.

The thing that kills me is this virus is relatively easy to thwart.  Masks, limiting gatherings, social distancing, hand washing.  Transmission chains are broken.
If we did this at the outset, such as mid-Feb or March 1 at the latest, there would have been a fraction of infections and deaths. And the economy could have been largely shut down for 2 months and then gradually reopened without much problem.

Time was ALWAYS clearly of the essence.  You need to get ahead of the virus, not wait until outbreaks occur all over.  Trump really failed at the innumerable DELAYS and Half-Measures.  But also the mistakes, largely centered around testing, but also supplies were inexcusable as well.

The complete lack of a National Coordinated Response doomed the US and likely 100K Americans (not to mention the 1M who were needlessly infected and suffered).

Calling the economy the “very essence of life,” Mac Donald called the shutdowns a “massive overreaction” when most people “face almost no risk.” [/i]

Showing no comprehension.

The reason most people "face almost no risk" is that we are shut down.

Most people face almost no risk?  That's a good thing.
And it's because of the lockdown.
Without it, most people would face high risk and you could have a million or more dead.  Stay the course.  Don't listen to idiots.
