Peter Strzok blocked FBI from closing Flynn investigation after it found no 'derogatory information'

By Jerry Dunleavy
Washington Examiner
April 30, 2020 - 3:50 PM

Now-fired special agent Peter Strzok stopped the FBI from closing its investigation into retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn in early January 2017 after uncovering “no derogatory information” on the incoming Trump national security adviser, according to newly released records.

Emails later that month show Strzok, along with then-FBI lawyer Lisa Page and others, sought out ways to continue investigating Flynn, including an email from Strzok admitting that he wanted to use a defensive debriefing of Flynn as a “pretext," after the bureau moved to shut down the case.
The disclosures are among the trove of redacted FBI documents, emails, and text messages released on Thursday that have been touted by Flynn's lawyers as exculpatory evidence heretofore concealed from the defense team.

Most people face almost no risk?  That's a good thing.
And it's because of the lockdown.
Without it, most people would face high risk and you could have a million or more dead.  Stay the course.  Don't listen to idiots.

I knew things were genuinely getting pretty good in China when they lifted the quarantine in Hubei Province.  Another milestone: gradually lifting the strict quarantine in Wuhan.  Another key step to me: when the Shanghai doctors and nurses returned from Wuhan.

This week, they partially reopened schools in Shanghai.  Just the senior class in middle school and high school returned.  They have national exams to prepare for.  And with only one year in the buildings, they can space the students out more (Chinese classes tend to have 40-50 students per class).

Come to think of it, that's the same stupid logic by which you don't take precautions against the virus until after you have serious outbreaks.  Exactly where the Trumpeters went wrong and why there are 60K dead.

All eyes on Sweden

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/28/europe/sweden-coronavirus-lockdown-strategy-intl/index.html

"What's the strategy of the other countries?" he asked. "It [herd immunity] was already the only thing that will eventually stop this, unless there is a vaccine in time, which is quite unlikely.
"The truth is that no one, no one in Sweden, no one elsewhere either, knows what the best strategy is. Time will tell."
He said that he believed that stricter lockdowns "only serve to flatten the curve and flattening the curve doesn't mean that cases disappear -- they are just moved in time."
"And as long as the healthcare system reasonably can cope with and give good care to the ones that need care, it's not clear that having the cases later in time is better."

So the lame fall back is it was a really tough hand Trump was dealt.

Not a fall back.  Just fact.

But we shall overcome.  As Trump says - next year should be quite prosperous for the US.  I would think this would be if he wins - or if he does not.  I would love to have him see this through.  But we will see

On a related note - maybe Joe should just apologize to this woman.  I dont think there would be any change to his status if he did.  The election wont be about that.

We Are Losing Lives Because Of This Shutdown’: Heather Mac Donald On Why ‘Irrational’ Coronavirus ‘Paranoia’ Can Be Deadly

https://dailycaller.com/2020/04/29/heather-mac-donald-coronavirus-fears-shutdown/

Mac donald expailned that when people don’t get needed hospital treatment, defer procedures, or are scared to go to hospitals, things can break down in other ways, including more drug abuse and “deaths of despair.”

Calling the economy the “very essence of life,” Mac Donald called the shutdowns a “massive overreaction” when most people “face almost no risk.”

Oh look! A Republican concerned about the negative effects not accessing healthcare. So cute!

Except...

(a) We already know that Sweden's experiment failed (see prior posts for the evidence)

(b) We already do know the best way to go. It is only fools denying it.

Lockdowns aren't binary — "open" or "closed." They include a range of tactics with various levels of severity.

Based on the experience of other countries, as well as what we've learned about the virus, we may be able to "optimize" our lockdown approach without losing control.

For example, it has become clear that the virus primarily spreads indoors. Outdoor activity appears to be pretty safe — especially with distancing and masks. So we can probably safely open parks, beaches, and other outdoor spaces as long as responsible measures are followed

Based on Sweden's experience, we may also be able to relax some other lockdown restrictions.

Life in Sweden is not "life as usual." Professional sports are cancelled. Large gatherings are banned. Small businesses must encourage distancing.

But Sweden's restrictions are not as severe as some other countries', including the US's and UK's. Primary and grade schools are open, for example. As are most businesses
