Daniel Dale thinks he is a match for McEnany

McEnany is not a match for McEnany.

She promised not to lie and then did so first press conference on the job.

So terribly impressive.

It's pretty simple from where I sit:

If there is a record of Tara Reade's having complained about his treatment while she was in his office, then he has a major problem.

If, contrary to what she has said, there is no such record in the Senate's or National Archive's records, then I think he does not have a major problem.

And if the president's campaign folks keep saying things like "there can't be one rule for Joe Biden and another for everybody else," I think they are going to end up regretting it.

I find the neighbor's saying she remembers being told about it when Tara Reade's never mentioned having told the neighbor is... not evidence against Biden.

I find the brother's remembering sexual harrassment and then later saying, in essence, "oh, yeah, and also that bit about the hand under her skirt," is not evidence against Biden.

Neither of these is evidence to support Biden, either, of course.

I find Tara Reade's having come forward first as one of the women complaining about his creepiness and his putting hands on her back/neck, then coming out with the additional accusation to not be evidence that discredits her at all. The creepiness coefficient about Uncle Joe is something I have complained about for years - in and of itself. And the extra stuff coming out after he gained the nomination is pretty consistent with how some people need to operate.

I don't think that the former staff folks' defense of Joe makes a shred of difference in the believability of Tara Reade's story either. I wish it did, but I know far too many cases in which the aides to the powerful man (whomever it might be) are either ready to cover for him no matter what or have managed, somehow, to have no clue what was going on around them.

It’s as if Biden was never vetted... oh, wait!

This is the birth certificate and college transcripts
This is her emails

This is Conservative Rat Fucking 101

This is the “Student Body Right” in the Rat Fuckers playbook. Take your opponents strongest attribute and turn it against him/her.

Obama was the embodiment of the American Dream so he really couldn’t be an African American, right? “Prove you’re a citizen and if you’re so smart where are your college transcripts?”

Wikileaks drop emails about some guys risotto recipe and snarky shit talk about Bernie Sanders - a non Democrat making demands on the DNC so he can destroy it...
But there were nefarious schemes afoot especially with her aide Huma being  an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood and all.

Joe Biden is a decent man. That is his stock in trade. Genuinely nice guy, huh? The kind of guy who would finger bang a subordinate for the hell of it? No? But what about what you said about Kavanaugh?

This is an op as old as Gary Hart on Monkee Business.

It’s the Lombardi Power Sweep.
It’s the Joe Gibbs Counter Trey.

It’s the play you run again and again until they stop it.
The defense won’t stop it until they stop biting on the fake.

Yup.

But I think the "Oh, you say you made a complaint? Huh. It's not in the records." response takes good care of it.

Thanks for that update.
Good for fucking Oz.
I mean you're no New Zealand, but not many are.

Seems that Australia took action early and effectively.
A coordinated national response no doubt.
Protective measures for citizens and the nation with compliance and viral transmission isn't that difficult to contain.

Mississippi's governor has reconsidered and is not reopening things.

Washington's governor is extended stay-at-home through the end of the month.

Miami-Dade's mayor says zero tolerance for those not social-distancing.

Denver is going to mandatory face masks.

Meanwhile, Jim Justice says if need be he will put the restrictions back in place and throngs of ninnies in Huntington Beach, CA, protested while working to spread the disease around among them.

And two more specialists have tried to convince folks that until a place has seen dwindling numbers for 10-14 days there is no good reason to relax standards - but their words are having the usual impact.

And Fauci may not be permitted to talk to the House, but he's being allowed to talk to the Senate, in yet another asinine ploy by the Liar-in-Chief.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/pence-staff-threatens-action-against-reporter-who-tweeted-about-visit-to-clinic-without-surgical-mask/ar-BB13rzxh

Karen Pence explained that Mike didn't know that masks were required at the Mayo Clinic.

This would have been far more effective if a reporter hadn't tweeted out that the VP's office had told all the reporters that they would be required to wear masks.

What was the Veep's office's response? To threaten the reporter for violating "off-the-record" information. Sure, they reasoned, we lied to the public, but only the reporters were supposed to know that!

This administration is revolting, still and again.

Well, I think it depends on which allegation you are talking about. I thought her original allegation seemed credible. But I think the one year gap between coming forward in an interview with the upper body hug and coming forward with the pussy grab does seriously impact her credibility. As does her bro's suddenly remembering the incident days later. Not disqualifying but a hard block to get around. That she claims she reported the hugs and not the assault contemporaneously has less of an impact, but also negatively impacts her credibility.

I think the scene in her father's novel is a trope.

Hello.
Thank you for your warm remembrances and maybe your warmer "who Dat?"

Joe has always been a game of "hot potatoe" [sic] in that defending him can result in exploded potato burns on your face.

I nearly never think "he says what I think"

I won't forget his bipartisanship vis a vis Clancy Thomas (which bugs me most in the Tara Reid situation). Of all the times to be bi-partisan.

The Democrats ought to shift attention nationally to capturing the Senate, House and statehouses. That ought to be the case they make. But nobody is going to ask me, so...

I'm multiple news cycles behind, but my favorite was the guy saying "I got a feeling 2021 is gonna be a bad year" (not a quote) the implied next line being "Especially if Trump and we see it in together." If that doesn't make people wonder who we want working where, I don't know what will.

Downside is that it will allow for, "Don't change horses mid stream." Perhaps an ad that shows a horse<s> going </s>charging over the waterfall with a rider wearing a MAGA hat. The Donkey with the rider's hand still outstretched to help, is walking towards the far bank.

Back to "Normal?"

The other sunny day I was working on my front porch (a car had whacked it) and there was a woman walking by. She was in my neighborhood but I had never seen her before. Now, keep in mind that I am just feet away from the sidewalk, and that I delight in saying something cheerful to the people who happen by, pretending not to want to be disturbed (more on this later) I thought about whistling at her. After all, "normal" is that construction workers whistle at pretty women as they pass. But it quickly occurred to me that there are some parts of "normal" that we DON'T want to return to.

Capitalism, for example. How can multi billion dollar corporations need a bail out after two weeks of slowed revenue? How can we say that it is a working system if 48,000 people committed suicide in 2019 during the go go boom of our miraculous economy? That is not a working normal that I want to go back to.

Ok that's enough ranting for now...

Thanks for reading.

Tara Reid was Bunny Lebowski.   Tara Reade was the Biden aide.

When I first heard the latter mentioned on the news,  my mind went immediately to the former.

Being an urban achiever and all.

A red-hatted mob in Michigan
Demanded the right to fish again.
Though they wielded rifles
The guv saw they were trifles
And affirmed the majority's wish again.
