Former Trump aide seems to have provided faulty masks to the Indian Health Service.

Quote
A former White House aide won a $3 million federal contract to supply respirator masks to Navajo Nation hospitals in New Mexico and Arizona 11 days after he created a company to sell personal protective equipment in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Zach Fuentes, President Donald Trump’s former deputy chief of staff, secured the deal with the Indian Health Service with limited competitive bidding and no prior federal contracting experience.

The IHS told ProPublica it has found that 247,000 of the masks delivered by Fuentes’ company — at a cost of roughly $800,000 — may be unsuitable for medical use. An additional 130,400, worth about $422,000, are not the type specified in the procurement data, the agency said.

What’s more, the masks Fuentes agreed to provide — Chinese-made KN95s — have come under intense scrutiny from U.S. regulators amid concerns that they offered inadequate protection.

Trump is a less articulate version of Big Dan Teague.

heh

I’m shocked!

One would think Trump would jump at the chance to hang a black man in the Whitehouse.

Being nice, it is totally insane. Putting voters in harms way by denying c19 is an issue.

Vote harvesting has proven to be a corrupt practice; widespread mail-in voting would be even worse. It should never be allowed.

You ain't proved shit.

Oregon, Washington and Colorado send ballots to all registered voters in every election.  Where's your evidence anything has been amiss?

The GOP always seeks to shrink the number of voters.
The Dems always want more eligible people to vote.
Wonder why that is?

Voting should be mandatory.
Or if you don't want to fine those who don't vote, then give a $50 tax refund to those who do vote.

ACLU Florida: Report on Vote-by-Mail Ballots in the 2018 General Election
Dr. Daniel A. Smith & Anna Baringer

Principal Findings
• In the 2018 general election, as in past elections, Florida voters were much more likely to have their vote tabulated and validated if they cast their ballot in person at an Early Voting site or at their assigned Election Day precinct than if they cast a mail ballot (commonly referred to as “Vote by Mail” (VBM) ballot or absentee ballot);
• Younger, first-time, and racial and ethnic minority voters, as well as overseas and military voters, who cast VBM ballots are all at least twice as likely as older and white voters to have their VBM ballot rejected in the 2018 general election;
• Despite changes in the ability of voters to ’cure’ their rejected VBM ballots, the likelihood of younger and minority voters casting a mail ballot that was rejected increased in 2018 compared to 2016, while the rejection rate of VBM ballots cast by white voters decreased from 2016;

https://www.aclufl.org/en/aclu-florida-report-vote-mail-ballots-2018-general-election

Vote By Mail would be a disaster for a Presidential election.
The above is just one example of the multitude of state laws regarding the issue.
27  states permit vote harvesting.   13 states don’t mention anything about the practice. The list goes on.

Depends.   If someone has zero idea what the issues are in a race,  no clue who stands for what,  then I'd prefer they opt not to cast a vote.   I'd prefer mandatory civics classes in high school, to increase knowledge and help future voters figure out what's at stake.

Oh look,  Red is pretending to care about minorities again!

The ACLU is making a case for improving VBM,  not getting rid of it.
