---Veterans, servicemembers and military families are good at seeing the forest for the trees. On issues important to the veteran and military community, President Donald Trump has achieved some major victories.---

Uncle Donald has been very good to Luee the veteran. Appeal process going to outside Drs. a big improvement of sticking to cynical VA Drs. Evaluating process of hospitals also much improved.

Please give examples of how Trump created a booming economy.

Business owners, not governments, create jobs

The policies have created the greatest global economic disruption in history, with trillions of dollars of lost economic output. These financial losses have been falsely portrayed as purely economic. To the contrary, using numerous National Institutes of Health Public Access publications, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Bureau of Labor Statistics data, and various actuarial tables, we calculate that these policies will cause devastating non-economic consequences that will total millions of accumulated years of life lost in the United States, far beyond what the virus itself has caused.

https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/499394-the-covid-19-shutdown-will-cost-americans-millions-of-years-of-life

Oddly, Scott W. Atlas, John R. Birge, Ralphy Keeney and Alexander Lipton don't seem to offer any opinion as to what would have happened if millions of people (here and world wide) would have died if governments did not apply a "COVID-19 mitigation policy of broad societal lockdown focuse[d] on containing the spread of the disease at all costs.
That would have been speculative, at best, and not very shocking.
The report they did put together relied on facts reported by
National Institutes of Health, Public Access publications, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Bureau of Labor Statistics data, and various actuarial tables.
In just the US alone 38 million people are out of work.
The 100,000 deaths reflect, at minimum, 67,000 people who were not part of the work force.

In most of the remaining cases some never got sick and most of the others returned to work shortly after recovering from mild symptoms.

Tote that barge...

White folks appear to be ready to sacrifice Gramps so they can get back to their everyday of hamburgers, water parks and hairdos, even though we are in the midst of a global pandemic that has killed 90,000 Americans to date.

Trump and his people just made this process much, much easier.
Not in any way discernible from the numbers.

Employers do not hire people because the process is easier. They hire them because they need workers for production.

There is a lot that the government does that effects the economy...

The government can help to create jobs, by having tariffs on imported goods so that locally produced goods are more competitive. The government can also lower taxes locally. There is also the issue of credit, and lowering interest rates on business loans. And there is the issue of making sure that people have access to business loans. There is also redevelopment money which can go to redevelop poor areas. There is also the issue of training and educating the work-force. And for farmers, etc, they need a steady flow of new immigrants who want to work as farm labor, so the government policy on immigration comes into play. Then there is the issue of international trade deals, and making sure that our trade deals are fair. Locally, there are anti-trust, anti-monopoly fair trade rules, and anti-dumping rules, etc, and we need fair trade rules internationally. Then there are worker safety administrations locally, OSHA, etc, and labor unions and rules for unions, etc. There is also the issue of defense, and many jobs are created building defense items. Also, there are public works projects, such as building dams, etc, and transportation projects, etc.

Those are a few thoughts, and there are other ways the government can help the economy.

Sure, the people are the ones doing the work, but the government can help with the frame-work, and rules, etc, etc, etc.

Salute,

Tony V.

Tony,

You might want to look at the impact that Trump's tariffs had on jobs and the economy.

Then have a look at what reducing taxes did to job growth.

Then come back with some numbers, because the ones I have seen don't support either of your positions, even though I agree with you that government can be a big help.

As ever, you make a claim. Somebody asks you to support your claim. Then you do anything but support your position.

Could it be that your position is unsupportable?!

And the other part of his premise,  that governments don't create jobs,  is flat wrong and reveals complete ignorance of basic economics and history.   Both private and public sector employment have long been mainstays of our society.

If government was somehow involved in the process of hiring people, and making this make-believe “process” easier created more jobs, and Trump made that “process” easier, then why were jobs created at a faster pace under Obama? ( true, of course, before covid)

Given the facts (numbers on job creation on Obama vs. Trump easy to come by) one of these two things must be true; either government making things “easier” has nothing to do with job creation, or it was Obama who made things easier, not Trump.

Of course, your premise is flawed. Government creates jobs. And did so by the millions after the 2008 Great Recession. And it will be up to the government to create and save and bring back jobs once covid is behind us.

And we Trump isn’t up to that job.
