I didn't get to read that link yet.

But the simplest way to defund the police is to decriminalize drugs.
Once you end drug prohibition, suddenly there's much less crime and you need much fewer police and smaller budgets.  Magical.

Also decriminalize the approach to mental illness,  which became a police thing when the seriously ill were abandoned by defunding state hospitals.  An insane number (sorry)  of prison inmates are mentally ill persons who formerly were directed to mental health programs.

Amnesty, Abortion and Acid.

I think that's what Biden should run on.

Better than Trump's fascism and slow-motion genocide.

Trump is angling for the full Qaddafi, bayonet and all. It’s better treatment than he deserves at this point already, but we are a forgiving people.

Bambu, are you going to tell us what is wrong with each of the 9 ways you linked to or are going to try and get right about this?

I'm still going with "All lives matter".
Yes but once again, YOU ARE A RACIST.

If I were rich and lived in America I'd start a ALMBA, and the first person I'd hire as a commentator would be the guy sacked from his NBA job, and radio job for daring to give an honest "ALM" answer to a question from another person.
Why? We already have the Klan for people like you.

I have to go with 'ALM', in memory of all the White people in America murdered by Black people...including the white Aussie guy murdered in his own home in Houston by people described as having 'dark skin'. His widow and 2 children are grieving, and are now alone in the world with no husband and father.
Murdered White people, who seem to have all just been forgotten.

A more inclusive banner for Black people in America to have chosen would've been "All Lives Matter".
Yes, but you a racist.

More whites are killed by white people than by blacks. You have no right to be concerned about black on white crime.

Really?
So the dead White people [and their families] killed by Blacks don't matter?

No right to concern?
Not according to the left side of the graph on my tv the other night, [I'll double check today, wouldn't want to be posting incorrect information].

Indeed.

Once upon a time mentally ill people were confined to "mental institutions" [the best kind were the ones with rolling green hills for them to wander safely in, sit in the sun in, and be treated in.]
Then the do-gooders came along and said that was cruel, and the public land was so valuable it was sold off for many millions...and the mentally ill were released into the community. One such person was shot dead by the cops in Sydney recently, rushed at them with a knife.
Another a few months before.

"No right to concern?"

Nobody said that.

But when one complains that a disproportionate number of blacks are killed by police and unarmed by police (Remember? UNARMED), for you to come back with "But what about..." each time is revolting and so totally self-absorbed on your part as to render your position pretty much invisible.

It's the same as your "yeah, but..." response to men's violence against women. You get up in arms over what happens a minority of the time, because it means you don't have to be honest about what truly bothers you.

Another gross misrepresentation of what happened.

3 NYPD officers stabbed and shot

2/3 of Americans support the protests [and all that goes with them]…"it's the only way to effect change".

Might I suggest the "BLM protesters" as they're now being called...stay away from Polk County Florida;

Sheriff Grady Judd recommends residents shoot looters who break into homes.
He is being lauded on my radio today.

"I would tell them, if you value your life, they probably shouldn't do that in Polk County," Grady said. "Because the people of Polk County like guns, they have guns, I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded, and if you try to break into their homes to steal, to set fires, I'm highly recommending they blow you back out of the house with their guns. So, leave the community alone."

Grubhub & Uber eats go dark in Polk county Florida.

Its not like our nation was founded by criminals so dastardly England had to ship them half-way around the world.

People shipped to Australia were mainly nonviolent impoverished Cockneys who were looking at debtors prison.   I know everyone loves the cliche of Australia being full of nasty felons,  but it's false.  I roomed with an Australian fellah for two years,  who educated me on the matter, so I feel moved to pass it along.   Economic refugees from England's oppression of the lower classes would more accurately describe them.

The incessant self-buggering crime spree that led to the creation of Bambu didn’t really get underway until those poor Cockneys met some Aborigines. Once Australians started self-buggering they have never looked back.

Were the cops wearing body cameras?
No cops should be allowed out in public without wearing body cameras that work.
The exact truth must always be shown on video, somehow, some way. Maybe two cameras in case one doesn't work.

He had also struggled with addiction and mental health issues.
"Tacoma police say that on March 3, they saw Ellis trying to open the doors of occupied vehicles — and when they approached, he became 'combative,' " Will James of local member station KNKX reports. "The family questions the police narrative of the encounter."

*

But police say that on the night Ellis died, he assaulted a police officer and slammed the officer to the ground in the street, according to local media outlets that cite sheriff's department spokesman Ed Troyer.

According to police, four officers struggled with Ellis, who wound up in handcuffs and on the ground. Shortly afterward, he lost consciousness. Troyer tells local TV station Q13 that the officers turned Ellis onto his side and called for help.

In addition to the homicide determination, the medical examiner's report found that methamphetamine intoxication and dilated cardiomyopathy, or an enlarged heart, were contributing factors to his death.

#####

Ruled Homicide, the cops are basically 'gone'.
You'd hope it wasn't as the cops stated.

My ex used to work mental heath intake for NYS prisons when I lived in Beacon. The way things are handled now is a huge tragedy.

We’ll do ourselves a lot of good when we make mental health part of our NHS.

The democrats/progressives now officially endorse
“ Defund The Police!”
This will not end well for them.

Tom Cotton wants to send in troops.   Erm,  isn’t this exactly what gun extremists like Cotton say the 2nd Amendment is supposed to prevent?
