Change?
Sure.
Good ideal...might be achievable.

In the meantime, everyone obeying all the existing laws, all the time, would be a good start.

And if the existing laws are racist? (Which many of them are.)

Or if the folks enforcing them are racist? (Which many of them are.)

Is your take that folks should just lie down for injustice, even if it costs them their lives to do so?

Which laws are racist?  that you don't think should be obeyed.  Breaking any existing laws is not a good idea.

I'll give you ONE example. You could figure some out on your own if you ever used your brain.

Who can go to which schools.

The source of the Beijing mini-outbreak is unknown so far.  One theory is imported salmon, which seems iffy.  But they found the virus on a salmon cutting board at the market.  Another theory is it came from somebody from Hubei (the Wuhan province).  China has also been dealing with mini-outbreaks up at the border with Russia (near North Korea), which isn't too far from Beijing.  And then Beijing is an international city and some flights are going in and out ...

Unlike the US, China did a pretty serious and effective 10-week lockdown.  And then another 10 week gradual reopening.  No half measures and then a rush to reopen.    Full measures and then a steady slow careful reopening.  It's been organized, coordinated and effective.

Outside of Hubei Province, where the virus commenced, China has reported 15K confirmed cases.  Roughly the same as Japan and South Korea.  The US has had more deaths than China has had cases.  Must be that great Trump leadership.

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who is battling in a GOP runoff to get his old Alabama Senate seat back, attacked Democratic Sen. Doug Jones for backing the Warren amendment. Sessions tweeted that the plan "betrays the character and decency of every soldier who fought for the South in that bloody and monumental war."

Why doesn't it betray the decency and character of every solider who is trained or stationed at these bases?  Doesn't it disrespect the many black soldiers who live and work on these bases?

Who really gives a shit about enemy/traitorous soldiers from 150 years ago?
And in fact doesn't it actually "betray the character and decency of every soldier who fought for the NORTH in that bloody and monumental war."

It's pretty obvious having US military bases named for Confederate generals is wrong and unusual, and in an election year not too many Republicans are willing to fight this battle.

Yeah, he needs to go. And his claim that because he's gay his sexually charged email cannot be sexual harassment is just plain wrong. Nor did his obscuring the content in his explanation to the party help - downplaying what he said to make it seem simpler and "I only repeated what she said," which would have been problematic enough. But that is not what he did.

Jeff Sessions was on the wrong side of history in so many other ways. He's decided to add one more. I hope he wins the nomination!

And yes, it is obvious - to everybody but Trump, Sessions, and some members of Elba.

Clayton County police officer stops 5 teens (13-15 years old) at gun point. This is the policeman's perspective on things.

Thoughts?

Denied the gun...then turns out there was a gun of some sort.
Cop did well.
In the new world order there'll be no cops.

*

Brooks video after that one...what's with the 200 questions over 30 mins?
He was obviously intoxicated, should've had him blow into the machine as soon as the second cop arrived.
Everything was going along fine, all nice and polite, until Mr Brooks escalated the situation by resisting arrest etc.

Hadassah doctors crack the cause of fatal corona blood clots:
Researchers discovered that patients who form fatal blood clots have an increased level of alpha defensin protein in their blood.

Helps explain why traditional anti-coagulants and anti-platelet drugs weren't so effective.

USA Today op-ed re:  mail in voting

Democrats ....

- Harmeet Dillon

...when the only people in recent history guilty of mail-in ballot fraud are Republicans, you can ignore the rest of the bullshit that followed.

Why does kiidcarter8 think an obviously partisan op-ed written by a Republican Party operative contains information of value?  Because it tells him what he wants to hear, and he wants to hear it because its what Trump told him he should want.

But both sides do it of course.

Diplomacy is beautiful

LOL @ kiidcarter8 thinking empty threats Trump has no legal authority to follow through on delivered via twitter can be considered "Diplomacy."

Make no mistake, our "president" probably thinks so too.  Which is why North Korea turned out so great.

Nobel Prize!

But a Washington Post analysis of data collected by three vote-by-mail states with help from the nonprofit Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) found that officials identified just 372 possible cases of double voting or voting on behalf of deceased people out of about 14.6 million votes cast by mail in the 2016 and 2018 general elections, or 0.0025 percent.

The figure reflects cases referred to law enforcement agencies in five elections held in Colorado, Oregon and Washington, where all voters proactively receive ballots in the mail for every election.

The minuscule rate of potentially fraudulent ballots in those states adds support to assertions by election officials nationwide that with the right safeguards, mail voting is a secure method for conducting elections this year amid the threat of the novel coronavirus — undercutting the president’s claims.

In early(ish) days of COVID when there was still time to significantly mitigate its spread in the US, Trump refused to be briefed by his health officials because he didn't want to hear bad news, and was mad that the news was causing a downturn in the stock market.  Your "president:"

https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/watch-as-the-covid-threat-ramped-up-trump-resisted-sounding-the-alarm/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=share_button

History will not be kind to Trump's response to a pandemic that could end up killing more than 200,000 Americans.  We can only hope that the 2020 elections won't be either.
