On the issue of helping the homeless in Southern California, there are a lot of ways to help the homeless once people choose to care, and once people choose to get to work helping the homeless.
One way is that the homeless people will be able to go to the new Wellness Center in Orange and get help for all of their needs all in one location. And more wellness centers can be created.
https://bewelloc.org/ We can also have camps, where the homeless addicts and alcoholics can go for treatment, there are camps in Acton, and in Lake Hughes, and there are other camps, the homeless addicts can do 90 day treatment programs. And then after treatment the addicts can go to work with Homeboy Industries and with other groups in order to start new lives.
The groups such as Homeboy Industries, and Habitat for Humanity can build houses for the homeless who are senior citizens, 55 and older. And the homeless people can work with Homeboy Industries and with the other groups as they build houses for the homeless senior citizens. The disabled people can live with the senior citizens.
Also, we can have cheap hostels like in Rome, Italy, where the homeless people can take a nice hot shower, and where they can sleep in a nice comfortable bed for $15 per night.
There can also be Bed and Breakfast type housing.
And there are group homes for sober living, and for the mentally ill, and for people coming out of prison.
Also, help for homeless Veterans.
There is also the issue of helping the foster youth, so that they can be successful, instead of ending up homeless.
There is also the issue of helping abused women, many abused women end up homeless.
Those are a few ideas on ways that we can help the homeless.
We can also have a special office at the city halls for helping the homeless. It is a crisis.
Salute,
Tony V.
