Did CNN or MSNBC cover the rally live?
I wonder why not.
Wouldnt the ridiculous musings of Trump be perfect for their base to see? Or were they worried about folks on the fence being impressed?
Because they've committed to not carrying advertisements full of lies unpaid.
And that's all it was, Kid - it was a campaign rally. Since when does any
reputable network carry campaign rallies? The news there was (a) that it was happening, (b) the number of folks predicted to be there, (c) the throngs showing up way early, (d) the machinations to avoid any regulation like curfew or CDC recommendation, (e) the 6 advance team members coming down positive for COVID and their quarantining along with their immediate contacts, (f) that fewer than 7,000 folks attended the event, even after the plea texted to all 100,000 who ostensibly wanted to be there, and then (g) the things that were said.
Highlights got shown, of course:
1) He told his people to slow down the testing. Doesn't matter if it was truth, lie, or joke - a stupid thing to say and if it was a joke, he needed to say so THEN.
2) "Kung flu." Just in case anybody had forgotten what a racist he is, it was good of him to remind us. He got 18-27% of the Asian vote in 2016, depending on the exit poll. He seems intent upon reducing that this cycle.
3) His push to make flag-burning illegal (again), in his fake patriotism, in opposition to the 1st Amendment. Granted, that has always only meant "freedom of speech for Donald Trump and friends, nobody else," to him. He just formalized his opposition to the Constitution.
