McConnell is bitching and moaning about how the Dems would not even allow debate on the GOP joke of a reform bill.

But didn't McCon have the bill go directly to the Senate Floor instead of going through committee where it would be debated and adjusted?

http://www.salon.com/2020/06/24/red-state-reopening-has-been-a-disaster--and-republican-hopes-for-a-comeback-are-collapsing/

It was really a weird blind roll of the dice.

Maybe the virus would peter out in the hot weather...
Or a vaccine would come along...

Otherwise transmission was bound to increase as people gathered more in public, with a good percent not taking adequate precautions.  What other outcome could be expected?

The only other explanation is that Trump wants the virus to be raging come November to cancel/postpone the election or curtail voting.  CV-19 as the best voter suppression technique (combined with limited mail-in and few polling locations).

Since Trump won't stay away or quarantine, what NJ should do is after Trump leaves, they should shut down his golf club and quarantine the premises for two weeks.

At America's centennial:

Maine had a greater population than California.

Iowa had one more electoral vote than CA & FLA combined.

Kentucky had the same electoral votes as Texas and Florida combined.  So did  Tennessee.

Maryland, Louisiana and Mississippi all had the same 8 electoral votes as Texas.

Missouri had the largest population south of the Ohio River and West of the Mississip.

I guess Florida was mostly malarial swampland with bad weather (and no A/C)

Good idea!

Biggest COVID-19 case increases in CA, TX, and FL.

Not because of testing.

US sets record for total number of cases.  Four months into this thing.

Americans should be out-of-their-minds furious that we endured the economic pain of a shutdown, small businesses closing, tens of millions out of work, for absolutely nothing because the man in charge of the Federal response is a total idiot.  Too incompetent to implement an effective reopening plan, and actively torpedoing the efforts by effectively telling people not to wear masks, and backing the idiotic protests of stay-at-home orders.

Now the Tri-State area needs to quarantine visitors from out-of-state so that our efforts aren't similarly wasted.

Trump needs to be dragged from the White House by his toes.  Now.  Not waiting until November.

Speaking of November:

Quote
In Michigan, which Trump won by 0.3 percentage points in 2016, 47 percent of respondents said they would vote for Biden if the election were held today, while 36 percent say they would vote for Trump — a lead of 11 percentage points for Biden.

In North Carolina, which Trump won by 3.8 percentage points in 2016, 49 percent of those polled said they would vote for Biden if the election were held today, while 40 percent say they would vote for Trump — a lead of 9 percentage points for Biden.

In Pennsylvania, which Trump won by 1.2 percentage points in 2016, 50 percent of respondents said they would vote for Biden if the election were held today, while 40 percent say they would vote for Trump — a lead of 10 percentage points for Biden.

In Wisconsin, which Trump won by 1 percentage point in 2016, 49 percent of registered voters polled said they would vote for Biden if the election were held today, while 38 percent say they would vote for Trump — a lead of 11 percentage points for Biden.

Okay, we're still some months out.
But 9 to 11 point leads are pretty substantial.
And Biden is on the cusp of 50% in most of those states.

Biden also up 7 in AZ and 6 in FLA in state polls there.

Just a few bad apples...

“Officer Piner then explained to Cpl. Moore that he felt society needed a civil war to ‘wipe ’em off the fucking map. That’ll put ’em back about four or five generations.'”[/size]

I was glad to read this step was taken....

Consultation with the District Attorney’s Office regarding these officers being used as witnesses in cases and reviewing any previous cases they might have testified in to determine any bias that might have been exhibited...

Wonder how many innocent people were incarcerated because of these bad cops.

55% of voters in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, Arizona and North Carolina say there is "almost no chance" they will vote for Trump according to those same NYTimes/Siena polls.

Mitch and minions said it shouldn't be done "in secret" -- making it sound like committee proceedings aren't public.   Kamala pointed out that,  of course,  they ARE public.   Yet another absurd "transparency" argument from Rethugs.
