They'd worked decades.  Cops testify in court frequently.  Probably hundreds of cases tried with their testimony.  Based on what they said to each other on that tape, do you think their testimony was fair and unbiased?  If so, I've got a bridge in New York I can sell you for super cheap.

Trump handling the daily coronavirus briefings will go down as the worst political decision since Nixon got the Plumbers together.  A narcissist with no interest in the virus or the science, and displaying no empathy for the victims, speaking off the cuff on all manner of stuff, especially a medical situation he clearly didn't understand, while frequently congratulating himself on what a great job he was doing ... as an epidemic grimly spread across the land.

It was just way too much Trump, particularly way too much Stupid Trump, and the lack of leadership while hogging the spotlight really was awful.  During a Serious Crisis this was inexcusable.  After a while even Trump's inner circle had to drag him away from the daily self-immolation.

We know how to stop transmission of a respiratory virus, and with will and leadership it could have been done at a fraction of the deaths/hospitalizations/infections, and with less economic pain.

(a) You can't read. He was as low as 45% in July, but in June his low was 46%.
(b) Yes, Obama was as low as 45%, but he was still only at -4 at his worst from then on (in August).
(c) Trump managed to go from +1 in early May to -18 in early June. I don't think your comparison holds water to Obama. More like a prayer. (Or as you would put it, take what you can get.)
