Us folks on the left are just hyping this as a way to diminish Trump's reelection chances, same as we wear masks to make him look bad - it's just politics. Like the Obamacare thing.

Texas shifts from reopening to containment
Gov. Abbott orders some bars to close by noon today as Texas cities face 'apocalyptic' numbers if surge spreads

Just another libtard governor trying to make Trump look bad.

Strong cautious move by Abbott.

ICU beds at 97% - the norm being 85-88.  (and of course further ICU can be made available through conversion, construction)

Just about 20% are COVID cases.

Abbott's lieutenant just said TX has recently begun testing in 256 counties, where they had been testing in just 20.

I wonder if they expected a rise in cases.

heh

If the increase in testing was the cause of the rate spike, they might have expected a decrease in the rate of positive tests.

Instead its gone from 7-day average of 7% to almost 13% over the last ten days.

But we know you are all in on the idiotic "double edged sword" rhetoric coming from your "president."  As you are all things Trump.

Rise in testing does not equal rise in number of ICU beds.

Eliminating the ACA would end medical insurance for more than 20 million Americans. It would also end widely popular provisions of the law, such as extending parents' coverage to children up to the age of 26 and prohibiting insurance companies from denying coverage based on preexisting conditions.

Trump and congressional Republicans have long said they want to "repeal and replace" Obamacare but have yet to offer legislation addressing what would take its place...

Coronavirus patients who took statins fared better in hospital, Chinese study shows

Given the combined 1 in 10 death rate for those with Type 1 Diabetes and the ability of COVID-19 to cause spikes in blood sugar, I can see how a statin might help, but I can't access the study, yet.

And that arch-liberal nemesis of Trump, Ron De Santis, has blocked alcohol at bars across Florida.

Yes - and the median age much much lower

Nobody is denying that young people - in their more not so cautious ways - are getting this virus - what remains an issue is the severity.  Early results say LESS SEVERE - as was also fairly easily predicted.

I dont think its just young people going to the bars - so dont hit me with that.

Hmmmm

Maybe wiser than TX.

Allows "bars" to stay open and serve food/cold NA drinks
