Important to note who he was dealing with in Congress during most of his tenure---puts those accomplishments in proper context. Also, he was the first scandal free Prez since Ike.

Hugely embarrassing that Dems lost the Senate two years after taking over the disastrous Bush who crashed the economy and got us into 2 endless wars.
Actually they lost a Senate race in MA before that which is inexcusable.

The Dems need to make the case for the need for a Dem Senate.  They need to go for a full tidal wave landslide.

This is where the Dems could use Soros/Bloomberg PAC money and make very targeted consisent and coherent attacks against the complicity and cowardice of Senate Repubs in empowering and refusing to question an inept authoritarian dangerous nut-job like Trump. 

The Blue Tsunami may hit the US shore hard this year but when waters retreat in the out years and the damage done by the Trump-Repubs become glaringly obvious, its going to up to the Dems to clean up the Repub mess, so they're the ones who will get dirty.

But Repubs will then blame Dems for a slow clean up effort. And that they have the answers to right the ship, hello 2022 off-year elections!

So Dems basically have to run-up the score in 2020, and neuter as many Repubs as possible, gain the WH, House and Senate, clean up the disaster, feeding the hungry, heal the sick, and put together a sane package (maybe infrastructure-jobs, expanded heathcare, continued government support for an ongoing economic recovery, rebuilding US stature with traditional allies,) that doesn't scare mod and indy voters in 2022. Stay the fuck away from medicare for all and soaking the rich and corps in taxes, hold-off  on controversial, divisive stuff, as Dems will need time and consensus to rebuild America, and there will be pain and costs to be borne and likely by those that have disproportionately and unfairly benefitted over the past 40 or so years.

Disagree.  Get everyone covered by health insurance.  Obamacare is popular and will be more so once the cracks are fixed.

Certainly need to reverse the ill-conceived ill-timed Trump tax cuts.
States are drowning in debt.  And will need support.
One of my solutions is to make companies pay a minimum of 15% tax on profits.  no more zeroing out.  No more billion dollar profits and zero tax. 

You need to fight for what you believe and stand for something.  And do the right thing.  Moderate, GOP-lite is not the answer for the Dems.

I think Dems with the electoral trifecta (P/S/H) can deliver Obamacare +, a better  and expanded health insurance program, BUT stay the fuck away from deeply controversial medicare for all that we know will be politicized and demonized in 2022. 

Some corp tax cuts can be tinkered with, and minimum payments (an AMT of 15% for large corps doesn't sound crazy or unfair) BUT as the US is coming out of a economic disaster/recession/depression raising corrporate taxes is economically, finanacially and ultimately politically counterproductive. Its a loser.

Dems have to show they can realistically fashion programs and tax plans that big biz can prosper under even if they bitch about it, and they will. The Dems will lose in 2022 if they go too far left in 20-22, and jeopardize 2024.

this is a marathon not a sprint, so don't waste all your energy on the first 100 meters.

COVID-19 put TRUMP 2016-2020 under a microscope, as both a leader and a human being. And it’s not pretty. Slide after slide reveals festering bacterial cultures of narcissism and fits of folly.
