Maybe the Mayor should've just resigned.  Instead of holding her gated community neighbors to this type of emotional anguish.

Maybe.

Maybe marauding protesters should stop invading communities and subjecting residents to fear and emotional anguish.
There oughta be a law.
Gated communities are private property.

By their own lawyers statement these were peaceful protesters with two white protesters carrying (not aiming) weapons.

And making verbal threats of fire and death.

What were they supposed to do?

How about go out and stand on their lawn holding up a BLM sign?  Would've saved them a lot of hassle.

Never go outside when there's trouble. ( never get out of the car either )....it will only end badly.
If the trouble is on the street, it might not involve you, and might pass you by.
If trouble sets foot on your property then that's the time to prepare to shoot...and shoot if your home is invaded.

Going outside pointing a gun is a lot more likely to end badly for this couple (and their pocketbook) than holding up a sign.
Or sticking it to the window.
They didn't need to step outside at all.

Accounts of the incident had them already outside

Got a recording of it? No? Then it's a claim made for its own benefit, not verified. Roughly akin to "we were afraid for our lives."

And had they not accosted the protesters to begin with, would they have still feared for their lives?

Daily Mail...

"We were told we would be killed, our home burned,  and our dog killed";  Missouri lawyer couple defend pointing guns at BLM protesters who 'broke down their mansion gate' and trespassed on private property.

" I really thought it was storming the Bastille, that we would be dead and the house would be burned".

The Trump campaign belatedly responds to the conditions on the ground and cancels their Alabama rally.

You guys who are trump supporters don't also need to support this misbehaving couple who no one but their PAID lawyer is defending.

Why do you jump to their defense?  Do you see yourself in them?  Sit this one out.  You'd have more credibility.

Uh, no.

Why not?

Folks put conditions on financial support all the time. I’ll continue to fund you and your socialized healthcare system if you stop stealing your neighbors land.

Yawn. You should stick to other topics.

Except that video confirms that the gate was not broken down to the area and the "mansion gate" doesn't exist. You should look at the images before quoting these folks. We get that you are trying to defend them. It won't work.

Quote
Personal-injury lawyers Mark and Patricia McCloskey, who pointed a rifle and pistol at protesters Sunday night in front of their Portland Place mansion, said through their lawyer Monday that they felt threatened by two “bad actors” who destroyed an iron gate to their private street and lobbed insults at them.

One man among the protesters points a long mike at the homeowners. Everybody else is using a phone, except the homeowners.

Here's the gate:

It is to the walkway, not to the McCloskey's house.

Racial health disparity, explained.

When Uché Blackstock, an urgent-care physician and founder and CEO of Advancing Health Equity, saw initial reports from China regarding characteristics of people who are at higher risk for contracting coronavirus she knew it would spell trouble for fellow members of the Black community.

“Black communities were essentially already sick before coronavirus,” Blackstock told MarketWatch. “They carry the highest burden of chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, even obesity.” In addition, health-care institutions in predominantly black neighborhoods are often under-funded and provide lower quality care than in other neighborhoods, she said.

The nightmare Blackstock foresaw has become an unfortunate reality.

Nearly one-third of Black Americans have lost someone they know due to coronavirus, compared to 13% across all populations, according to a recent Ipsos/Washington Post poll. Additionally, Black COVID-19 patients have 2.7 times the odds of being admitted to the hospital compared to non-Hispanic white patients.

https://www.bbc.com/news/health-53218704

A new strain of flu that has the potential to become a pandemic has been identified in China by scientists.
It emerged recently and is carried by pigs, but can infect humans, they say.
The researchers are concerned that it could mutate further so that it can spread easily from person to person, and trigger a global outbreak.
While it is not an immediate problem, they say, it has "all the hallmarks" of being highly adapted to infect humans and needs close monitoring.
As it's new, people could have little or no immunity to the virus.
The scientists write in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that measures to control the virus in pigs, and the close monitoring of swine industry workers, should be swiftly implemented.

Any action in the White House, yet?

"ScoMo goes ballistic as Australia spashes out on new weapons".
One can never have too many weapons.

The more weapons you have, especially new weapons, the more likely you are to use them.  Think about that ...
