Could Trump follow LBJ and drop out?

Fantasy land.
I would be very surprised if he dropped out.

This seems to be the other likely option:
Newsweek: How Trump could lose the election and still remain President

It's hard to see Trump losing and just leaving gracefully.
While the 4th possibility is a Trump win, but at this point that might require Trump himself concocting an effective virus and going door to door inoculating voters.

Omaha had a statue of Boyardee,  outside a Con Agra plant.

I was surprised a few years ago when I discovered that Chef Boyardee was a real person and not just a corporate marketing image.

Ettore Boiardi catered Woodrow Wilson's wedding, and helped make Italian food, especially spaghetti, American food.

What if the woman in the car was black and the woman walking behind the car was white?

It's all the same.

What was the whiite man charged with, he's also in custody.
Can't see where he drew a gun.

The black woman, was yelling 'racist' and 'ignorant' at the couple, and at the white woman as she sat in the car before she wound up the window.
All the time the white woman was cool, calm, rational, measured, saying to the black woman "I care about you".
White woman only pulled the gun when she feared physical assault as the black woman approached her in angry manner and invaded her space.
A reasonable person could've thought they were about to be physically assaulted.
Self defence.
Isn't that why poeple are allowed to carry guns?

The ugly white man drove his car into a pedestrian and was an accessory to the ugly white woman’s assault.

May they find Islam in the pen and emerge as better people.

Ghislaine Maxwell's NH house was called "Tuckedaway", and she bought it with cash for over $1,000,000.

Time to tuck her away for a few decades.

Used to have a gf who lived about half a mile from there.

Negev desert?
People could live there.
Desalination plants...pump water from the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean.

Not many.
How many folks live in Australia's interior?

Not many...but there's no need for more to do so.

Whiteness sure is ugly.

Self defence.

It's been ugly since well before the Civil War, Bambi. No excuse.

What if the woman in the car was black and the woman walking behind the car was white?

Then when the woman who hit the pedestrian pulled out her gun, she would have been killed by the police.

Duh.

Knicks

Buy the kids some donuts that will keep them happy for awhile, but they aren't the ones driving the car and i'm not sure they know how to get where they want to go or where the local voting precinct is, as many have never voted before.

Have a safe 4th and good luck outrunning the torpedos, because they're surely coming.

In this context you don’t outrun torpedos because they are tethered mines. You go through the minefield.

What you don’t understand about this generation you belittle as children is they are the most informed generation in history having grown up on social media. They can out organize and out mobilize better than anything you have ever seen.

They’re coming out college and high school into this shit and they aren’t stupid.

Knicks you used the torpedo analogy so I stuck with it. You want to go to "minefield, that's cool. I'm pretty good at that game.

As to what I don't understand about this generation would take a post to long to type, but I do have kid 24 YO and she's very bright, not particulalry political, far les than I was at her age, but she's pretty aware. And her political leaning more or less mirror mine, and I expect she will vote for Biden and a Dem ticket. But that's a small sample size.

I do not know if others of her generation will or will not vote.

But history tells us their turnout will lag older voters, They vote at about a 42% rate versus about 70% for seniors in US Presidential elections.

But I'm hopeful they will vote in bigger #s.

I grew up watching Cronkite and Huntley & Brinkley, and PBS, and I read pretty good newspapers. Globe and Times, eventually the WSJ and read Newsweek every week. I was pretty well informed relative  to my peers.

I don't get filled with confidence that this generation is as well informed by on-line social media and the death of print journalism. IMO the web is a far less transparent and reliable source of information, and there is a ton of it to vet, and a lot of it, as we've learned is garbage. Remember GIGO?  When reading crap on-line it applies in spades today.

I view this topic through my background as: politically aware, a liberal, an analyst, and cynic.

As you are aware I question a lot of shit and I can make people uncomfortable and defensive. Thats the way I'm wired. And it was an occupational requirement. When someone wants you to invest big $ you ask hard questions of them.

In any case, I am not putting all my eggs in the basket of younger americans who spend far too much time on the internet, and have a historical propensity for not voting.

But I will keep an open-mind and hope that kids who have seen high school proms and graduations cancelled, kids who have seen college educations interupted anf kids who's first job was shit-canned all because of an inept racist moron who is not fit for the job,  will get pissed enough to remember to register and then to vote.

But I would not gear a national election to an agenda that might solely appeal to younger or liberal voters, as I've posted I would keep it less controversial because I do not want to scare away or push away older more moderate voters who actually fucking vote.

I'll talk about fixing EPA and building a consensus for a greener America, but that will not be a centerpiece. Nor will I focus on soaking coprorations with higher taxes in the middle of a recession. I do not want to kill a recovery. I will talk about rebuilding America, infrastructure, jobs, bailing out the revenue starved states, fixing O-Care/healthcare so the motherfucking Repubs can never fuck it up again, and I'd get tough with the motherfuckinfg Russians who are our fucking enemy and are not be trusted. China is more nuanced, but i'd work to normalize and control that relationship and drop the stupid fucking tarriffs, as they are really only a tax on us.

And thats a lot because the moron in charge now fucked things up pretty badly, And its going to take some time to fix it right.

And knicks the minefield you wish to safely navigate is probably best navigated by going cautiously, measuring risk, assessing data, and picking your course, and issues you need to win carefully, rather  than going as fast as you can, because the motherfuckers Trump and McConnell are laying motherfucking mines as we speak.

May the advancing group be seen for what they did to cause the gun to be drawn.

What are people supposed to do these days, just allow themselves to be bashed, and cry out from their bloodied faces, "I didn't draw my gun".

The white woman did not shoot anyone, all she did was tell the woman/ group to "back off"...obviously fearing  for her safety.
The white woman seemed to think what she was doing was within the law and within her rights.
The white couple should take the tape to their trial and argue their case.

Nothing caused the gun to be drawn.

Nothing caused the gun to be POINTED.

If she got out of the car and apologized the whole thing stops then and there. Or if the driver got out and said, "I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking carefully enough. Are you all right?!"

But that is not what happened. The couple took zero responsibility for hitting the teen.

You never admit liability in traffic accidents...it's what insurance companies tell you.
You never apologise, that is an admission of guilt.

Maybe the man didn't know he hit anyone...maybe he diid know.
Maybe he hit someone, maybe he didn't.

That's not why the gun was drawn.

In the movies, when people feel physically threatened, they draw their guns, tell those threatening them to back off, then get in their cars and drive away.

Well that's what happens.
That's how you save yourself...in the movies...you draw your gun and point it at people.
That's what happens in many Hollywood movies.
Maybe the white woman thought she was doing nothing wrong.
Wonder if she still cares about other people now she's behind bars?...or if she''s learnt her lesson and wised up.

Ahh yes, the "In the movies" defense.  So if we reverse the gun holders and a black woman pulled her gun on the unarmed white woman in that scenario that would be fine then, right?
