President Trump decried the terrible numbers on the coronavirus.

Finally, he found a way to solve the problem, as others have reported here previously.

Today saw the first result of that:
Quote
Wednesday afternoon one of the important CDC pages that tracked changes over time in how many hospital beds in the nation are occupied by COVID-19 patients ceased working. The CDC confirmed the page's disappearance was a consequence of the switch.
...
In a call with reporters Wednesday, CDC director Dr. Robert Redfield said the agency has agreed to remove the NHSN from the collection process in order to streamline reporting.

"streamline reporting"

If Redfield agreed to it, then he is complicit in hamstringing the process of figuring out who needs beds and who has beds.

The new database is explicitly not to be available to researchers.

That move is from page 21 of trump’s unpublished memoir, How to Fail in the Casino Business.

No way I'd be sending my kids to school...if I were younger and had any...and could possibly afford not to.
They'd just have to miss whatever couldn't be taught to them at home/online.
Vaccine end of 2021, or in 2022, or in 2023.

nah.......
Walmart has followed state guidelines til now.
And most states are now requiring when in stores, so....

Most states guidelines have been criminally inadequate as they follow Trump's lax lead.  Which is why many Red states have huge outbreaks now.  Walmart shouldn't have been doing the bare minimum.  They should have been protecting the health and safety of their customers and employees for the past 5 months.

Currently in the US you would have that right

Ingraham asked Kerpen if sending coronavirus hospitalization data to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) rather than the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) would help the situation.

"We'll have to see how well HHS does. But I give it a at least a seven or eight, because CDC has been atrocious," Kerpen said. "They've been so bad that most people are using a website from The Atlantic magazine to track national statistics instead of using the CDC website, which is pretty telling

It"s always nice to have Phil Kerpen, a long-time jerk with no particular expertise in epidemiology (or anything, actually) carry the administration's water.

There is no need for your summation, kiidcarter8, because my position on this has been stated and restated several times now.

I will put you down for a "most schools should open, while some (and you wont specify) should not".  Its the perfect place from you to criticize from later on.

How about you put me down for what I said, dunce.  I'm not an epidemiologist and I'm not going to draw you a graduated map of the United States broken down by county.

Follow the fucking science.

Nicely done once again

In being so nonspecific you can never be held accountable for having said anything

You thought children are less likely than adults to pass on the virus.  I corrected you, and pointed out that in fact classrooms would be prime places of transmission.  All other positions on opening up schools should stem from this simple fact.

If you have an argument with the facts, post it.  Otherwise, STFU about a subject you know nothing about.

Dr. McDonald starts his talk by outlining his knowledge on the topic:
Quote
"Children are not dying of COVID-19. Children are not passing the disease on to adults. So the only question is, "Why are we even having this meeting tonight?"

Wow.  You understand why we are where we are in this country if even some of our supposedly smart people (I mean, he is a psychiatrist, though no idea how good he is at it) are as ignorant on COVID as kiidcarter8.

That is saying something.

As parents, we will face many moments of anxiety: seeing our children off on their first day of kindergarten, their first day of camp, their first year of college. We may want to keep them home to protect them from the world, which can indeed be a frightening place. But let’s be clear, when we do that, we are not really protecting our children. We are only attempting to manage our own anxiety, and we do that at their expense. We are acting as negligent parents. We are harming our children. We are failing them.
We must agree to make decisions in the best interest of the children. If we do not—if, paralyzed by fear, we continue to act purely out of self-interest—we will ensure an entire generation of traumatized young adults, consigned to perpetual adolescence and residency in their parents’ garages, unable to move through life with independence, courage, and confidence. They deserve better—we owe it to them as parents.

[/i]Mark McDonald, a psychiatrist who specializes in children and at-risk youth, testifying at a June 24 hearing of the Orange County, Calif., Board of Supervisors

I hope you agree

So I'll take it back.  This guy isn't that smart.

Not only is he dead wrong that kids are not affected by COVID and that they can not transmit the virus.  The entire premise of the above is dead wrong.

Sorry, but anyone who thinks working parents want to spend their days trying to balance Team Meetings with teaching their kids at home and are not eagerly awaiting the days when they can send their kids off to school in the morning is fucking bonkers.
