Everyone online is the easy way.  Just not the better way.

It may be the right answer for some cities, and a stop gap until some containment is achieved, but not sure who its easy for, as very few really want that solution. But it might make the most sense. As might half-days smaler classes, in combo with online and and other community based solutions.

I guess Washington Foreskins won’t be considered as a new name for the NFL team.

It would get removed, after causing some tur-moyle.

There would be a tipping point,  for sure.
I was going to ask what that meant, but.i decided ignorance is bris.

I am guessing you have not considered how on line learning works, for instance, in rural areas, among the poor, migrant and homeless children, or on the reservation. It is, in the immortal words of Simon Foster, hard, hard lemon hard.

Trump: We want schools to be open and they will be open on time

https://video.foxnews.com/v/6171870739001#sp=show-clips

YESTERDAY.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos threatens to withhold school funding

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl4dtxy-Wss

YESTERDAY

Yep

We all know about the funding threat

Governor's need to look seriously at opening schools, not take the easy way out

"Yep We all know..."

Why not, "Okay, you're right and I was wrong when I wrote:
Oh and kid still waiting for your plans for school re-openings, particularly in the nation's hot spots, (FL, TX, AZ) you seemed to demand from others.

Why would you think I would offer a plan?  Not my area of expertise or knowledge - and unlike others here ...cough...BO....I dont put forth such.

When I see the plan i will comment.  For now I like the administration's PREFERENCE to get kids IN SCHOOL when at all possible.

DEMAND, not preference, backed by threats.

And not "whenever possible," but period.

Says you.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/16/politics/republican-reaction-trump-mail-in-voting/index.html

Just ignore the phrase, "potentially bound to get worse in the fall..."

Quote
Republican officials throughout the country are reacting with growing alarm to President Donald Trump's attacks on mail-in ballots, saying his unsubstantiated claims of mass voting fraud are already corroding the views of GOP voters, who may ultimately choose not to vote at all if they can't make it to the polls come November.

Behind the scenes, top Republicans are urging senior Trump campaign officials to press the President to change his messaging and embrace mail-in voting, warning that the party could lose the battle for control of Congress and the White House if he doesn't change his tune, according to multiple GOP sources. Trump officials, sources said, are fully aware of the concerns.
The impact could be detrimental to the GOP up and down the ticket, according to a bevy of Republican election officials, field operatives, pollsters and lawmakers who are watching the matter closely. Every vote will count in critical battleground states, they argue, fearful that deterring GOP voters from choosing a convenient option to cast their ballots could ultimately sway the outcome of races that are decided by a couple of percentage points.

And with the coronavirus pandemic potentially bound to get worse in the fall, voting by mail is becoming an increasingly popular option since many voters may prefer not to wait in long lines at polling stations. That will leave Democrats with a major advantage if their voters send their ballots by mail while Republican voters forgo that option simply because they are listening to the concerns of the President.

Fauci and Trump talked for the first time since early June.

Still not a briefing. And no actual changes from Trump or his minion in terms of their messages to the public.

Lots of other stuff, though. And a McEnany observation that he is doing a lot of things (and that's what's wonderful about this White House), but she expects he will work on the pandemic next week.

Yeah, right.

Have to doubt this is true

If it is then Trump has done a marvelous job delegating to his VP, something most here said he wouldn't do much of.
