Just don't mention Dead Kids, or China -- you know, the things kiid doesn't have any valid response to.
Israel: At least 1,335 students and 691 staff members contracted the coronavirus after Israel reopened its entire school system without restrictions May 17, believing it had beaten the virus. The spike in infections among the youths spread to the general population, according to epidemiological surveys by Israel’s Health Ministry. As of mid-July, 125 schools and 258 kindergartens have been closed because of infections.
Israel a pretty unique case (I believe), in that they controlled the virus and then opened up basically everything fully. [The May 17 reopening date was political as that was the day the new coalition gov't was announced, and the reopening was designed to show optimism and start the gov't off on a positive/popular note]
China reopened gradually. Even with schools, first only the senior year of high school and middle school returned in May. Then only after about 3 weeks of monitoring that and making sure there weren't infections, did they bring in the other classes.
When transmission is low due to effective measures -- lockdowns, business closures, isolation, mask wearing and keeping apart -- then countries can reopen
gradually, making sure things are okay before expanding. China had basically a 2 month lockdown followed by a 2 month gradual reopening. And now theaters are reopening carefully -- 35% capacity, no eating/drinking. They're getting set to allow fans at sports matches, again limited capacity.
Israel rushed their reopening and it backfired.
A fair amount of students got the virus and reportedly helped spread it back through the adult population.
