Uno, you are painting some reader responses (blackfishing charges)  as if these are probative of black views on hiring practices.   But the article doesn't seem to support that.   Some readers felt the white writer was not disclosing her identity and therefore tacitly presenting some of her work as a black perspective.   I think it's quite a leap from that request for transparency on writing staff to "we believe in racial discrimination."

So you didn't read the full article, either. As Dr. Fauci put it, "Don't put words in my mouth".

What does THOUSANDS of anti-maskers rallying against public safety measures in Germany have to do with reader reactions to the hiring practices of a website?

I didn’t read the article at all because i fail to see the relevance.

From the piece: MadameNoire did not respond to Yahoo Life’s request for comment on the situation, but its culture editor, Veronica Wells-Puoane, posted a statement to her personal Twitter last weekend, noting, in part, that the writer in question “has never pretended to be Black through MadameNoire, never written about race for MadameNoire and has never taken an opportunity from another Black woman.” She added, “MadameNoire is always looking for pitches and contributors to submit engaging content for Black women. And all of our current writers, who are all Black with a single exception, have done that…There are few publications that have the same history of leadership, operation, and ownership by Black women as MadameNoire. Our founding parent company was Black owned. Our current parent company is Black woman-owned. All of our editors are Black women. Our 100+ freelancers are Black with a single exception."

What is the upside for either political party regarding school opening?
Will people really be more likely to vote for Trump if the schools are open?

Probably not

Dems will use every COVID case - every school pause or closure to their advantage.

Trump isnt doing it for votes

Liar. Twice over.

The CDC projects 20,000 deaths in 21 days.

It's conservative. We've just had 5 consecutive days over 1,000, including three above 1,400, with an average of over 1,100 per day in the last 8 days - with no sign of its reducing and some of its increasing.

Gooooo, virus.

No, we want the virus to go.

We need effective government leadership to make it happen.

And Mr. "B+" continually demonstrates that he cannot and will not provide that leadership. Nor is Mitch McConnell appreciably better in this regard, though some.

Besides wanting the virus to go away and wanting effective leadership, we want hypocrites and people who were flat out wrong, like you and Ward, to step up and admit that you were wrong.

You don't have to go so far as to delete your erroneous posts, though. Just admit that your surmise was in error.

The NYC outbreak was preventable and unnecessary.  But all of this further spread is totally inexcusable.

Remember when Florida was in relatively good shape?
That's exactly when you order masks and lockdowns and reduce transmission to almost nothing.  Instead now Florida is close to passing CA for most cases.

An official in the UK was saying the choice might come down to pubs or schools.  That you're not going to be able to have both open.  Might not be able to have either in the US.  But basically that should be an easy choice.  Bars are ridiculously risky until you have virtually no transmission.

 This can help you, Larry.

There are a few benefits of the victim mentality:

Attention and validation. You can always get good feelings from other people as they are concerned about you and try to help you out. On the other hand, it may not last for that long as people get tired of it.
You don’t have to take risks. When you feel like a victim you tend to not take action and then you don’t have to risk for example rejection or failure.
Don’t have to take the sometimes heavy responsibility. Taking responsibility for you own life can be hard work, you have to make difficult decisions and it is just heavy sometimes. In the short term it can feel like the easier choice to not take personal responsibility.
It makes you feel right. When you feel like the victim and like everyone else – or just someone else – is wrong and you are right then that can lead to pleasurable feelings.

So, it's easier to dismiss someone else's post, as soon as it takes away from those good things you've found to keep your status as a loser in tact.

If you expect change on a large scale, begin making changes in areas you can control.

Calling out bigotry while promoting discriminatory practice is inconsistent thinking at best, and hypocritical behavior at the very least.
