I've said before that a huge responsibility of the VP will be rooting out the left-over corruption and malign forces that seeped into government during the Trump era and ripping it out.  Harris brings energy and know-how to that task.  A good pick focuses on Governance.

Would like to see Warren as part of that effort.  Maybe as AG.

We know how Republicans like to project.  When they talk about the Deep State, what they are really talking about are their intentions.  Trump is going to be like a defeated general bombing the bridges on his retreat, leaving government even more broken than it is right now.  And that is saying something.
I want Warren to be chair of the Senate Banking Committee.

We're close

I want her to be teller at my bank.

I want the woman who was a single Mom who was waitressing when decided to become a school. teacher so she went to community college.

She is everything Donald Trump isn’t.

How did you get so old being so damned stupid?

Oh yeah. White men like you voted for our present. Good work, Slick.

http://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/21364527/joe-biden-kamala-harris-vice-president-2020-bernie-sanders-democrats-moderate-liberal

The move to the left is vital in terms of climate change. That Biden is responding to that is important. I don't know yet if he will go as far as we need him to, but there is a far better chance of that today than there was 3 months ago.

Healthcare, too.

And unlike times past, I think both of those are viable positions, especially if Biden comes out and says "One of the few areas that I agree with the president on is the need for us to restore our infrastructure," then lays out his plan. The Green New Deal doesn't need that name to bring that kind of change - and to fix the economy in some basic ways to either head off depression or interrupt it early, depending on that the next 5 months bring.

And there are some not very left wing positions that could get dealt with in a Biden administration. The Voting Rights act needs fixing, as we all know. So, too, Citizens United. Just not nationally controversial, even if our resident trogs are offended.

And there are the courts - things which should never have been pinballs with left flippers and right flippers, but with the refusal of McConnell to allow hearings on one pretense and then the (predictable and predicted) reversal under Trump to a different pretense, judicial seats have become just such a bouncing object.

Both the practices of naming judges and justices and the issue of gerrymandering beg for long term solutions, not merely more partisan activity.

(More in both the sense of increasingly partisan activity and in the sense of a greater amount of partisan activity.)

Lord!

This is not satire!

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/kamala-harris-farther-left-than-elizabeth-warren-bernie-sanders/amp/

No, but it is parody.

A parody of responsible journalism and publishing, that is.
National Review did not create the chart.  That is the work of The non-partisan Govtrack.us and the chart is two years old
Now Govtrack.us rates Harris The most liberal and the least conservative Senator in today’s Congress.

This is the thing that gets me when right-wingers talk about the dangers and extremism of a "far left" candidate:  look at the "president" you support.

He is openly racist and supports white supremacy.
He separates families and cages kids as a deterrent to legal requests for asylum at the border.
He actively seeks to disenfranchise millions of voters who he thinks are less likely to vote for him.
He buddies up to dictators, seeks political and financial favors from foreign leaders, and is encouraging foreign interference in our elections.
He is gutting common sense environmental laws in ways not even auto companies support.
He would have kicked 30 million Americans off of their health insurance, and is now seeking to defund Social Security and Medicare.
He simply ignored the threat of spread of a deadly virus in the US that has now killed over 160,000 Americans.
Yesterday he tweeted out support of an openly Qanon candidate.

Ask a right-winger to imagine their worst nightmare antifa environmentalist whatever the fuck fantasy is in their head running the country, and know that the other side is living that reality right now.  There is simply no equivalent to Trump's extremism on the left and the whole scare show about "dangerous liberals" is just that.  Not to mention just pure baseless disinformation.

"Voting for Biden and Harris will destroy our country!"

Uh, have you checked in on what is happening in the US right now?
Say what? What does that diatribe have to do with non partisan ratings of congresspeople?

The republicans have driven all centerists to the left by embracing trumpism and weakening the country in every conceivable way. Leftist policies are required as remediation if the nation is to simply survive.

"I don't regret sending my kids to school," the mother of a fourth and fifth grader, who declined to give her name, told CNN. "They're either going to get the virus in school or outside of school, might as well send them back."

Just 3% of this district impacted to date - and this is without strict measures (masks, social distancing) - just recommendation.

Ain’t no way I’d send my kids back in this. No way in hell.

In Georgia I might agree with you.

I'd recommend the masks during changes of class, minimally.  And they for some reason did not do this.

The presidency with majorities in the House and Senate?

We’re at an inflection point.

Degrading Trump for his business acumen and success (and his family wealth) is nonsensical.

He was not my candidate, but like all America should have I gave him a chance from day one - and the nation prospered while losing its doormat status internationally.

Today was an impressive show put on by Joe and Ms Harris, sullied only bh Kamala's mention of the current administration's "transgressions".

If they stick to their own positives during this race, it will further my respect for their service - and my hope for their potential 4-year term.

Let's get it on.

What business acumen is that?

How many bankruptcies and frauds must he be involved in before you get that he isn't who he claims to be?!

Trump Steaks
Trump Airlines
Trump University
The Trump Foundation
The New Jersey Generals
Trump Entertainment Resorts

From Wikipedia, only covering the last of those:
Quote
Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc. was a gambling and hospitality company that currently does not own or operate any properties. The company previously owned and operated the now-renamed Trump Taj Mahal, the now-shuttered Trump Plaza, the demolished Trump World's Fair, the now-renamed Trump Marina, and the now-renamed Trump 29. Formerly known as Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts, it was founded in 1995 by Donald Trump. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2004, 2009 and 2014. It has been a subsidiary of Icahn Enterprises since 2016. Trump Entertainment Resorts currently owns one property, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, which is currently shuttered and vacant.

Mocking him for his business "acumen" is totally appropriate.

That's without mocking him for his business ethics, which make his acumen seem almost positive.

This Florida sheriff forbade mask-wearing by deputies and visitors.

So what if his county is setting records for deaths?!

I can hear Red's voice on the right side of these panels.

Then there are women who lie ..to the police and in court to gain wrongful convictions and then sue for financial compensation, as men are carted away to prison for the best part of their lives.
Google "False rape allegations"...it's all there in black and white.

Hey, Bambi?

Why don't you try addressing the TRUTH of what this says, for a change, instead of trying to change the topic?

Are you denying that what this describes actually happens? Are you claiming that it's untrue or true less often than made up?!

bambu did something in his past that he’s afraid will catch up to him one day.

More like something that might happen now, that he can't afford a good lawyer to defend.
He has a friend it happened to in recent times.
Falsely accused, the worst of crimes, from his youth.
He was not guilty, it was all lies, and proven in court to be so.
It cost him $300,000+ for the best lawyers to prove his innocence.
I could afford $3,000.
Don't' think you get much defence for that.

"Congratulations to future Republican Star Marjorie Taylor Greene on a big Congressional primary win in Georgia against a very tough and smart opponent," wrote Donald Trump. "Marjorie is strong on everything and never gives up - a real WINNER!"

Who, you ask, is Marjorie Taylor Greene? Well, aside from being the near-certain next member of Congress in Georgia's strongly Republican 14th District, she is a public supporter of the QAnon movement -- a broad-scale conspiracy theory that sprung to life in early 2017 and is based on a belief that there is a high-level government official, "Q," who sprinkles clues on internet message boards about a series of massive "deep state" conspiracies at work in the country.

(The FBI has said QAnon is a potential domestic terrorism threat.)[/size]

By the way, I have identified who this supposed Q is. His name is Frank Wuppermann, though he sometimes has gone by Oscar Diggs.

For all that, it can be said that Trump’s transformation of the Eastern Shuttle was not for naught; he’d ended up stuck with damaged goods when he bought the shuttle and made changes that were welcomed by both customers and employees (given the condition the shuttle was in when he took over, however, anything would have been an improvement). But other claims he’s made about the shuttle over the years don’t really stand up; yes, he did rescue a distressed property—but other bidders did come forward at the time and the value of the shuttle franchise was beyond dispute. True, he hired more than a thousand employees from Eastern—and most of them, understandably were happy to have jobs and enjoyed the brief ride while Trump was lavishing perks on his passengers. Most of them continued on after the tycoon departed. And Trump’s brief shining moment as a flyboy remains a mere footnote in the annals of aviation.

As for the shuttle—it still chugs along today and on October 17 it will enter its fourth incarnation, as American Airlines formally takes over as part of its merger with US Airway
