The real fraud are Republicans, who don't give a shit about voter suppression, and denying people the ability to vote, and are standing mute as Trump threatens to contaminate our election

Fucking frauds-but their game is up.

Most decent Americans see through the bullshit

Lets let it play out, alarmist.  Dont have a stroke.

Fine lets let it play out, usual rules, rehire the USPS workers, fund them to perform their jobs, don't trash the mail-sorting equipment, and let people vote as many have done for years, including the inept corrupt clown dictator, by mail.

Why would you show up in the first place? But if you did and your mailed ballot had not been processed then you would cast your vote and then have to explain why you tried to vote twice.

And if it had been processed?

Isnt the vote counted twice?

Why not?

(shut up Echo you dont know shit)

No. The votes would cancel out and you’d have explaining to do.

Alarmist?

I’ve been telling you for more than ten year the GOP was suppressing the vote.

I did my Master thesis on why white people were racist enough across the income and education  spectrums to support voter suppression of minorities.

Chickens have come home to roost.

Mailboxes removed in NYC

Just the main man embracing cancel culture.

And you can't tell the difference between disabling a governmental agency facility and boycotting a food store or song.

Trump has been taught well...if you don't like someone, something...just cancel them/it.
Don't like the NBA commentator's "All lives matter" response to a question, have him sacked...cancelled.

Fool.

Trump has functioned that way far longer than he has been in politics.

When you, are an officer in the 'cancel' army, you can hardly complain about what he's doing.

When I, am an officer in the 'grammar' army, I can complain about your sentence structure.

And bullshit to what you seem to be trying to say.

Anything I am doing of that sort or that anybody in what you call cancel culture is doing, is so far from what Trump is doing in terms of legality and ethics as to be an absurd comparison for you to make.

HE KILLS PEOPLE.

I've never claimed to be an english professor.
c u @ 4 @ mall is now a language.

Cancel culture could also kill people.

"Could" vs. "does."

You think they are the same. They are not. Nor could your claimed cancel culture kill nearly as many people. Nor does it interfere with constitutional freedoms.

You just keep on defending racism, Bambi, and illegality. It's a great look for you.

3 months is not enough to provide the herd immunity sans vaccine that some of you were thinking might work.

https://www.nbcboston.com/news/coronavirus/study-hints-cant-prove-survivor-plasma-fights-covid-19/2177818/

results with 35,000 patients suggest efficacy, but not enough for the Mayo Clinic to say "yes, use this," which means not enough for the FDA, yet.

Some folks are unsure there will ever be a conclusive answer, which strikes me as a premature fear.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/14/politics/usps-removes-letter-collection-boxes-reduces-post-office-operating-hours/index.html

Gee, they decided it was a bad idea after they got feedback suggesting people were upset about it.

Go figure that anybody might have been concerned!

But this is only the Western states. No word on others where this insidious practice has been occurring, like New York.

And reducing hours of post offices in Florida seems like such a good idea in a state that has multiple issues going on, not just COVID-19.

Quote
In a statement Friday night, Rod Spurgeon -- a USPS spokesperson for the service's the Western region -- told CNN that the service will stop the removal of letter collection boxes in 16 states and parts of two others until after the election.

That means, according to Spurgeon, the USPS will stop collecting the letter collection boxes only in: Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, Alaska, Nebraska and small parts of Wisconsin and Missouri.

It's not clear if the removal freeze would go into effect across the nation. Kim Frum -- a spokeswoman for USPS based at headquarters -- could not say if the freeze would go into effect across the country and would not comment on the freeze in the Western region.

Officials say that in the last week the USPS has removed letter collection boxes in at least four states: New York, Oregon, Montana and Indiana. The USPS has also begun notifying postal workers in at least three states -- West Virginia, Florida and Missouri -- that they will start to reduce their retail operating hours, according to union officials.

Rumors that Birx will be out and Scott Atlas in as coronavirus head.
The funny thing is Birx's failures were being too optimistic that the virus would fade and wouldn't spread that much; but she irked Trump when recently (6 months in) said the virus was everywhere and people should be careful.

Dr. Atlas.  Ties to conservative bastions Hoover Institute and UofC.
Some talk he's interested in herd immunity.
Here's some of his own talk:
Quote
Dr. Scott Atlas: “It’s very, very, low, extremely low risk to children. There’s not zero risk to anything, in fact, in life, but to be very precise, the risk to children is extremely low.”

Always BS when people fall back on everything has risk as an argument.
And "extremely low" isn't precise.

A big proponent of school openings, when asked about GA schools:
Quote
Dr. Scott Atlas: “There is no data that shows that the disease is transmitted in a significant amount from children to adults."

Should always err on the side of caution.  Assume that it either is or could be, if data is not conclusive.

Quote
Dr. Scott Atlas: “if there's no risk to children, no significant risk I should say, then what are you protecting them from? If kids get the infection in this school that's still okay. The goal of public policy is not to prevent healthy people from getting the infection. The goal of public policy, public policy is to prevent high-risk individuals from getting the infection. But that has nothing to do with locking down schools to stop people who have no problem with the disease from getting an infection.”

The first goal should arguably be to protect the most vulnerable.  But the best way to do that is to limit/stop transmission.  But it should certainly be the goal of public health policy to prevent as many people form getting the virus as possible.  Because a % of even healthy low-risk individuals will get very sick, become hospitalized and/or die.  Moreover, if you let healthy children and adults get the virus, it's almost certain that transmission routes will get to the sick and elderly and vulnerable.

This is a dangerous man, who apparently has started advising Trump.

He could've done more at the beginning, but most Americans it seems will not social distance, will not wear masks, and would rather "live in risky freedom than live in communist lockdown".
Also, the states don't seem to be doing anything drastic to stop the spread. The states, who have all the power.
Can't blame it all on Trump.

Most of the states that are doing a crappy, minimal job of defending their citizens against the virus are taking their cues from Trump.  Extremely true for Gov. DeSantis in Florida, which is close to overtaking CA for most US cases.

Trump set the agenda by downplaying the virus, politicizing masks, promoting dumb theories that it would end soon.  Mostly, the refusal to distance or mask up was directly tied to Trump's antipathy.  Trump also tried to force Blue states to reopen (too soon).

Trump's fingerprints and DNA are all over the failed US response.  And one of the worst decisions was to not have any coordinated national response, in contravention to how significant or national emergencies are handled.

A quarantine or health lockdown is not communist, it's effective public health policy.  If a strong lockdown was implemented for 2 to 2.5 months, the economy and regular life and freedoms would have returned much sooner.  The half-measure, half-assed approach just ensures that the virus and its effects on people's lives is extended indefinitely.

Forgive my ignorance...

If you vote by mail but then also show at the polling place - who catches this?

Board of Elections.

Your registration record will show the two votes and you will need a lawyer.

I voted by mail for the first time in my life about a month ago in the NJ primary, mostly as a test run to see what to expect in November, as that seemed the way I would be voting post Trumpdemic.

The safeguards as I recall were two-fold, there is a barcode that IDed the ballot, and a signature required for matching with the sig on file. I assume once that barcode is scanned, much like a ticket purchaesd on Stub Hub any other ticket (ballot) is then null and void, and in the case of an election, red-flagged for further investigation.

But, in NJ - you go to vote - in a booth - after signing a book.

If you had already sent an absentee......

what happens when you show up?
The same thing that happens when you show up to vote at 7:30 pm after voting at 8 am. They let you cast a provisional ballot and book a provisional cell in your local Federal prison.

No, most Americans wear masks and socially distance and follow safety protocols. The ones who do not are almost invariably Trump supporters. A d anyone who thinks a public health lockdown is communist has no idea what communism is and is a fucking moron, i.e., also a Trump supporter.

Most states are following the guidelines to stop the spread. The ones who do not are the most ardent Trump supporters.

Trump's failure to lead is the issue.
