Transcript of Kimberly Guilfoyle's speech at the RNC:
https://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts/kimberly-guilfoyle-2020-rnc-speech-transcript

Quote
As a first-generation American, I know how dangerous their Socialist agenda is. My mother, Mercedes, was a special education teacher from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. My father, also an immigrant, came to this nation in pursuit of the American Dream.

Somebody should let her know she is not a first generation American, as her parents were both Americans before they came to the mainland.
How this is anything related to anything shows you how utterly partisan Josh is.

When you are shotgunning huge lies like an OSU frat boy about to go shower with his coach, it’s hard to imagine anyone quibbling about a lie that is obviously minuscule by your current standards.

These people can’t not lie. The lie on every subject large and small. A normal person would get that bit of their very googleable personal history right in a televised speech. Dolezal-Guilfoyle might have a relative who was a beneficiary of trump’s Bounty(tm) of beneficence after hurricane Maria. She should use some of that Parscale money to get in touch with her roots and learn to tell a better story.

Character is on the ballot. Truth is on the ballot.

Trump can’t follow laws.

Trump can’t keep order.

The Post -haven't read the whole story yet - described the convention as turning on "a firehose of false or misleading claims.. . "  Shocking.

Open8ng the schools with no plan or strategy is a symbol of not giv8ng a shit.

No dictatorial national plan, I think you mean.

Biden meanwhile has stated he will act dictatorially re:  the virus (and the economy).   Funny you now support this.

Each time I think you’ve reached peak stupid you achieve another level...

“So far, the RNC seems to be mostly providing content designed to thrill MAGA devotees who already love Trump,” Robby Soave wrote for the conservative publication Reason. “I’d think that’s a questionable strategy.” And David Brooks of The Times wrote: “This convention is targeted to one voter: Donald Trump. The whole convention is to make his lonely soul feel affirmed.”

Pretty good descriptions that showed up in my inbox this morning, but then there is this:

Jim Geraghty of National Review countered: “Democrats should feel a little less confident about November right about now. Given the raw material of short snippets of speech, rally video footage, flyovers, ceremonies, the president hugging the disabled, etc., talented editors can make Trump appear Reaganesque.”[/i]

That is going to be some seriously talented editing, believe me.

We knew Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was a POTUS of ours. Believe me, Donald John Trump is no Ronald Wilson Reagan.

He isn't even Richard Milhouse Nixon.

He is more like Millard Fillmore, the last of the Whigs. and later the great leader of the Know Nothing Party.

And that is who we have. A Know Nothing POTUS.

Pump the breaks on the Reagan comparison! It's a faulty analysis and it shows a tremendous amount of cognitive dissonance, and puts far too much faith in the Trumpagandists working hard to make Donny look presidential.

Guilfoyle.

I'm a first generation American.

Nope, you're not an immigrant.

My parents were both immigrants.

Nope, your mother was born in Puerto Rico. Since 1917, if you were born in Puerto Rico, you were granted American citizenship.

So, you don't even know who YOU are, and yet you'd like to LOUDLY lecture others on who they are and who they should aspire to be?

TFF!!!

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-supporter-tomi-lahren-inadvertently-133209448.html

Some things just don't translate. Others are dead on.

In a video shared on Twitter, Ms Lahren, a political commentator and Fox News "Nation" contributor, can be heard praising the Indian diaspora for apparently getting behind the “Make America Great Again” campaign.

“Because President Trump is wise like an owl, or as you guys would say in Hindi – I hope I’m pronouncing this right – President Trump is wise like an ullu. I hope I said that right,” Ms Lahren told her followers.

In Hindi, ullu does indeed mean owl. But unfortunately for Ms Lahren, to compare someone to an owl in India is to label them “a fool” or a “jackass”.

Eagle-eyed Hindi speakers were quick to spot the blunder, footage of which has since gone viral and attracted coverage from a number of major Indian news outlets.

Yep. Dead on.

Get those "Wise, like an ullu" t-shirts printed up!

We've been calling for a national plan the entire time your president has been waffling and sniveling.

We just want one based on science, not on personal whim.

Longtime Liberty officials close to Falwell told me the university president has shown or texted his male confidants—including at least one employee who worked for him at Liberty—photos of his wife in provocative and sexual poses.

At Liberty, Falwell is “very, very vocal” about his “sex life,” in the words of one Liberty official—a characterization multiple current and former university officials and employees interviewed for this story support. In a car ride about a decade ago with a senior university official who has since left Liberty, “all he wanted to talk about was how he would nail his wife, how she couldn’t handle [his penis size], and stuff of that sort,” this former official recalled.

Backs up that old belief that the guy who boasts the loudest about his sexual prowess is probably not getting any or impotent.

Funny, the other wealthy nation that has also opted for regional handling of the pandemic, and avoided being "dictatorial," is Spain.  Which has soaring rates of new cases right now and has exceeded our per capita infection rate.

Revved by Sturgis Rally, COVID-19 infections move fast, far

So far the Sturgis Spread hasn't been bad.
It's only been 10 days, and some asymptomatic folks might pass it to others, etc.

Quote
Health departments in four states, including South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wyoming, have reported a total of 81 cases among people who attended the rally. South Dakota health officials said Monday they had received reports of infections from residents of two other states — North Dakota and Washington.

The Department of Health also issued public warnings of possible COVID-19 exposure at five businesses popular with bikers, saying it didn’t know how many people could have been exposed.

There were 5 places in Sturgis where someone tested positive.  A bar, a tattoo joint, etc.  It was hugely irresponsible and potentially a nightmare, but so far not as bad as I expected.

Yes, given the hundreds of thousands who attended, it could be a lot worse.  It helped that some bikers (including a couple I talked to, out in the Hills, south of Spearfish) deliberately avoided the crowded areas in Sturgis and toured in some quieter areas.
