That mission is not to make money or even to make the agency more efficient. (At one point, DeJoy said fewer rural deliveries would make the postal service more efficient.) The mission is to provide a reliable service specified in the Constitution that the framers understood was vital to the nation’s well-being.

Funny, the other wealthy nation that has also opted for regional handling of the pandemic, and avoided being "dictatorial," is Spain.  Which has soaring rates of new cases right now and has exceeded our per capita infection rate.

We'll be passing their per capita death tally in the relatively near future.

Yes, given the hundreds of thousands who attended, it could be a lot worse.  It helped that some bikers (including a couple I talked to, out in the Hills, south of Spearfish) deliberately avoided the crowded areas in Sturgis and toured in some quieter areas.

As a first-generation American, I know how dangerous their Socialist agenda is. My mother, Mercedes, was a special education teacher from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. My father, also an immigrant, came to this nation in pursuit of the American Dream.

Somebody should let her know she is not a first generation American, as her parents were both Americans before they came to the mainland.

But it would involve me listing all of the crimes of our modern Nazi party, the kidnapping of children from their parents, the sending of troops into Democratic cities to shoot and blind our people and kidnap them off the streets, the subversion of democracy in their attempt to destroy the postal service, their collusion with Russia, their blind eye to over 25 sexual assaults by Trump or Jim Jordan's coverup of pedophiles assaulting his wrestlers, their negligent homicide of over 170,000 Americans because they thought Covid was going to stay in liberal states... sure. I could list all of the things that I would hang senior Republican leadership for, and hate might be a fairly reasonable description of the way I feel about the people who supported all this. There's some hate in all that.

The trick is to let it drive you, but not to let it steer.

The funny thing is the Trump message is full of dire warnings about how Biden will harm the country and ruin civilization -- it's even infected kiid's tagline -- yet somehow 8 years of Obama-Biden were pretty normal -- fixing a major economic crisis, greatly expanding health care access, running the gov't competently without people going to jail or being fired, etc.   Not exactly a surprise that claiming Biden is dangerous doesn't get any traction.

In addition to the coke-a-palooza’s bad ratings, it had all the signs of a convention put on by a party trying to win back a shrinking base.
