http://www.politico.com/news/2020/09/10/trump-religious-voters-411248

“Joe Biden is getting support from religious voters who don’t even know what his religious background is,” he said. “This isn’t tribal voting. There’s an enormous amount of religious Americans who didn’t think there were good options in 2016 and voted for Trump, but now see Biden as the superior option.”

About this "the President caused thousands of deaths"

It is INSULTING to the dead themselves to say such a thing

You weren't killed by this horrible virus at all.  Your suffering is not in any way courageous - as one in number with your fellow US citizens hat got dealt a bad hand. You will not be remembered so.

Just like the distortion of Blake as a brave man, you COVID-19 afflicted who lost life are distorted as simple victims, not patriots whatsoever.

You are a disingenuous piece of shit.

And you don't give a fuck about whether something is an insult to people you don't know unless it advances an argument in your game.

TRUMP caused those deaths, Kid.

He caused them by NOT WARNING AMERICA. He caused them by LYING. He caused them by HIDING THE TRUTH, intentionally.

He caused them by NOT WEARING A FUCKING MASK.

I think once the Woodward excerpts were released, there was little doubt that Trump is a murderer.

He knew the risks, he knew the truth, he knew the dangers, but he was so indifferent to the well-being of the American people, he couldn't give them a simple warning.

There would have been no panic in telling Americans, "we're still learning about this new disease, but to be safe, exercise caution, wear a mask and protect yourself and your family."

and people Rs and Ds would have listened, and the disease could have been controlled, lives saved, jobs saved, the economy saved and trillions not spent and used for more dire national emergencies in the future.

He's guilty of a casual indifference to human life.

and he's guilty of murder.

But lets show some understanding to kid, who must be going through some reassessments.

While many of us think kid's a racist moron, with no more sense than a testosterone driven teenager, and a deplorable in so many ways, no one here wants to hurt him or his family.

But his President, an inept corrupt Russian puppet dictator, is so indifferent to him and his well-being, he couldn't utter a single-sentence to help protect his family.

So did Pelosi, who knew just as much as Trump did.
So did Fauci who knew more that both Trump and Pelosi knew

Pelosi did not know just as much as Trump did, no matter how often you repeat the claim that she did.
Of course she did. Unless you think she is stupid.

No, I think YOU are stupid.

I think TRUMP is stupid.

I think Trump controlled the flow of information, as has been demonstrated several times over, including from Woodward's tapes. And if all the governors and Pelosi had the information that Trump had a bunch of governors would have behaved differently. And Pelosi would have, as well.

From KPCW:
Quote
As late as February 29, Surgeon General Jerome Adams was telling Americans on Twitter to stop buying masks, saying they are "NOT effective." But the guidance soon changed, and by early April the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began recommending that Americans wear face coverings in public. Even then, however, President Trump said he would not be wearing a mask himself.

Had Trump pushed masks when the CDC did, lives would have been saved. Do you dispute that, Ward? Kid?

This is when Trump knew the coronavirus was airborne:
Quote
On Feb. 7, during a taped interview with Bob Woodward, President Trump acknowledged that the coronavirus could be transmitted through the air, that it was very dangerous and that it would be difficult to contain. “This is deadly stuff,” he told the investigative journalist.

“You just breathe the air, and that’s how it’s passed,” the president warned.

On February 19th, the Chinese admitted that the coronavirus could be spread through the air:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pshp3uZzHTw

Tell me how Pelosi was supposed to know or the governors were when the Chinese had not told anybody yet?

You keep saying the information was available to anybody, Ward. IT WAS NOT!

WTF do I waste my time with you? You cannot admit an error and you don't accept evidence.

Then there's Trump's releasing top secret data about a new nuclear system to Woodward:
https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2020/09/10/miles-taylor-trump-reveals-nuclear-weapons-system-crn-vpx.cnn

WTF was he thinking? Showing off? Bragging?

It's legal for him to do it, arguably - he gets to determine the classifications of stuff and ultimately override others' clearance, but...

And OMG, Woodward?! Why put that in your book?! Showing off? Bragging?

COVID deaths in Canada yesterday: 2
COVID deaths in the US yesterday: 1,044

You don't see a lack of leadership and a total non-response by the Federal Government run by one Donald Trump to be the primary driver of the above difference, you are a fucking Trump Cultist.

Saw an excellent piece - I think from CNN - on US vs Canada re:  COVID.  I'll link to it if I can.  Hope you can agree to give it a look.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/09/opinions/us-canada-covid-19-bociurkiw/index.html

Thanks for the link kiidcarter8.  So...

- Better risk communication from leadership
- Better compliance with rules including mask wearing
- A more robust financial safety net
- Prioritization of science over political spin
- Widespread testing and contact tracing
- Total border closure starting on March 22
- Comforting daily briefings from their Prime Minister emphasizing national unity.

I think my post above stands.

Think variables when comparing US to other nations.

How do we differ from Canada - and how might those differences factor into potential problems/results?

That would make so much more sense if we were not 9th in the world in deaths per million!! That's out of more than 200 countries including countries bigger and smaller, more rural and less rural, democratic and communist and totalitarian and monarchic.

But we have now outstripped most of Western Europe. We have outstripped every continent but South America, which is governed as badly as we are and worse - except for the Guays.

Your excuses for why we are worse than Canada are stupid.

Bret Baier reacts to Woodward book fallout, says Trump has 'unique ability to get beyond these moments'
'Special Report' anchor calls Trump choice to sit for 18 interviews with Woodward 'curious'

Bret Baier is... an optimist (or worse yet, a pessimist). Trump can get past the moments that show he lied and caused the unnecessary deaths of 100,000-150,000 Americans, so far. How nice for Trump.

The families of the (deeply insulted by us) dead would not be pleased to hear that he can just "get past these moments," but his past conduct shows he can.

Because he feels NO COMPASSION and NO GUILT and NO RESPONSIBILITY for anything or anybody outside of family.

Carl Bernstein's reactions to the Woodward Trump Tapes:

"We all need to take a deep breath and understand exactly what it is we have learned,"

"THE smoking gun of his negligence."

"One of the great presidential felonies of all time; maybe the greatest."

Mike Pence is cozying up to QAnon.

I guess he's decided he is not going to win the presidency ever.

QAnon is nothing but a reconstituted Nazi Cult. A reworking of the ‘Protocols’ bullshit.

That makes them dangerous.

Over half a year in and the virus is still rampant in the USofA.
Perhaps downplaying the virus and deriding masks wasn't a good strategy after all ...

I suspect that anybody who got sick from one of Trump's rallies now has cause to sue based on criminal negligence (at best) on the part of President Trump.

I’m sure attendees signed waivers as in Tulsa.

Me, too.

But criminal negligence makes those waivers meaningless.

Quote
Even if a waiver states that you agree not to hold the company responsible for injury, the courts may hold a company liable for injuries arising out of gross negligence in the case of extreme recklessness or disregard for safety.

No one has been safe in Trump's America.

No one

You don't feel safe?

Maybe you never have.
