Rasmussen remains an outlier because their weighting system is flawed.   It doesn't sufficiently compensate for the inherent bias of landlines,  or online panels.   Also worth noting that,  post 2018, the parameters of "likely voter" have changed.

Guffaws heard in the Barton household this morning over "herd mentality."   If I didn't know Trump is verbally impaired (and couldn't summon the word "immunity"), I would have deemed it a Kinsley Gaffe.

Funny how so many of these Gaffe's have a Kinsley quality isn't it?

Like his campaign using an image of Russian soldiers and MiGs over the admonition to "Support Our Troops."

It kind of starts to add up.

"You know, putting a national lockdown, stay at home orders, is like house arrest. Other than slavery, which was a different kind of restraint, this is the greatest intrusion on civil liberties in American history," Barr said as a round of applause came from the crowd.

Needs

Methodology for Rasmussen

For tracking surveys such as the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll, the automated technology ensures that every respondent hears exactly the same question, from the exact same voice, asked with the exact same inflection every single time.

Because what they say they do is exactly what they do.

Where are the "secret" Trump voters for their polls?

How, when their computer interviews 500 people a day, do they get a 6 point reversal from one day to the next, which lies outside of their supposed margin of error?

As they point out over at Rasmussen, DIRECTION OF THE POLLING is what is important

The "DIRECTION OF THE POLLING" is a roller coaster, Kid, and has been all the way along this year. They have always had a rightward tilt. It's just become closer to vertical in that direction than it used to be.

So, REALPOLITICS is down to 6.2?  Where had it been?

Real Clear Politics uses Rasmussen't polling as part of their average.  So when Rasmussen releases a poll that has Trump up by one, Biden's average lead is going to go down.  This is like the eighth time the concept of an "average" has been explained to you.

No other poll has shown significant improvement in Trump's standing, while the averages are about the same as they have been since early August.  And yes Joe has continued to get 50% or better in most recent polling.

RCP just went from 6.2 to 5.8

Which is impressive, when you consider that they added no new presidential general election poll to their table!!

Yes.  I believe so.

Also -

re:  cell vs landlines, a usual anti-Ras topic

To reach those who have abandoned traditional landline telephones, Rasmussen Reports uses an online survey tool to interview randomly selected participants from  a demographically diverse panel.
