I have repeatedly praised and revered RBG here for her many decades of stellar public service,  you lying festering pustule.

The news story I quoted is well documented public record.   Which I posted on behalf of the great jurist and her valiant struggle to hold onto her seat.  Because she knew this would happen.

FUCK YOU.
You didn’t post anything.
And so much for your hypocritical advice last week about “ forum bedside manner”.

Dozens of posts over the last decade,  containing praise of RBG,  you lying clot of sickbed shit lodged inside a necrotic ballsack.

I have never used the phrase "forum bedside manner," you lying etc.

Keep making shit up,  you psychotic imbecile,  as you wank yourself off on the corpse of democracy.

My bedside manner for you would involve unhooking your vital signs monitors and placing them on a healthier person, then a nice long face-hug from a My Pillow product.

Thanks for confirming your hypocrisy.

And I in turn thank you for not refuting one single line of the NYT article I quoted, even as you whine incoherently that it was distorting history.   It was all factual,  and it must chap your ass horribly to have to face the lying and hypocritical hairsplitting of McConnell as he refuses to "let the American public decide. "

Thanks for playing.

The kindest thing I could say of Red is he's a miserable fascist vulture.

RIP Justice Ginsberg.

American democracy is now on death watch.

Hopefully there may be a enough R Senators who believe in the health of a gasping democracy and the will of the American people.

I am not hopeful.

Well the average time to confirm a SCt nominee is, per Congressional Research Service,  69 days.   The election is about 45 days away.

bart-there are then about 2.5 months until inauguaration day. I would not put it past Mitch McConnell to have a lame-duck Senate vote for a lame-duck president's SC nominee.

Trump and McConnell will taint every institution they possibly can in their pursuit of power and their contempt of our democracy.

Their disregard for our core philosophy leaves me with the sense  that our democracy is in peril.

It will be interesting to watch Republican senator's profiles of hypocrisy as they held one standard  in 2016 and denied Obama his nominee, but now disregard the electorate, and rush to judgement to fill Justice Ginsberg's still warm chair

They might hold for an interregnum play and hold for the lame duck.

Proving trump has always been illegitimate in all aspects will be the surest cure for the judicial branch, especially when tied to the personal corruption of McConnell in all his acts as leader.

LOL!
Except, of course, for the distortion.
From you and the alleged NYT article.( which you did not link)
We have no more filibusters on SCOTUS due to Harry Reid.
What goes around comes around
This will not end well for your point of view.
The GOP will get at least one of three- The White House, The Senate, a SCOTUS Justice,
Possibly two or all three.

Thank YOU for playing

This doesn’t move the needle electorally.

Trump and McConnell will weasel something up.

Like everything else they’ve done, by ballots or by bullets it won’t stand.

Hopefully, as it looks for the moment, ballots will get it done.

Trump downplays legacy of slavery in appeal to white voters

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump intensified efforts to appeal to his core base of white voters on Thursday by downplaying the historical legacy of slavery in the United States and blasting efforts to address systemic racism as divisive.

The president’s comments marking the 233rd anniversary of the signing of the Constitution amounted to a defense of white culture and a denunciation of Democrats, the media and others who he accused of trying to indoctrinate school children and shame their parents’ “whiteness.”

Of course this is what is meant by "patriotic education."  Proliferating the views that Slavery was good for Black people, deny its continued legacy, and portray White America as the chosen and infallible, etc.

kiidcarter8 knows what it means of course, but knows better than to say it out loud.  Probably also knows that if the people being polled on it actually knew what is meant by it, the response would have been different.

"And so that by April, every single American who wants to be vaccinated will have the ability to be vaccinated. It is not a forced vaccination, of course," Atlas said.[/size]

Echoes the earlier Trump falsehood that everyone who wanted to get tested could.
He was saying that fantasy line in late March or early April I think.

RBG bio-pic On the Basis of Sex (2018) is solid.  Felicity Jones does a good job.  I like how RBG is willing to tackle any challenges head-on and plow through them.  And once she gets her big chance she fully prepared.

Not surprised by RBG's death.  She had pancreatic cancer last August and that's not something that gives you much time.  Even hearing about her recent hospitalization, you kind of file it in the back of your mind.  Still sort of a shock.  Nothing seems to go right for the lefties.  I really thought she would retire under Obama and get a safe replacement as part of her legacy.  Dems aren't exactly strategic creatures at heart.

You mean they aren’t as venal and duplicitous as the GOP.

Dem senators voting against this time around will be hypocrites as well, no?

Sucks the system works this way, I agree.  But it just does.

My guess is this issue might actually help Biden.

Very classy move by Mitch McConnell to allow and appropriate amount of time, say, twenty four hours for the nation to adjust to the magnitude of Justice Ginsburg’s passing...

Yeah, right.

It's not that the system works this way.
The system has been manipulated by McConnell to work this way.
Traditionally, Obama would have filled the last seat.
And very likely this seat, open so close to the election, would have been left vacant due to the filibuster 60 requirement.
But McConnell has made the Senate to be an obstructionist and wholly partisan entity.  It wasn't always such, but old rules and traditions have been wiped away.

I guess it's the Dems own fault for not controlling the Senate.
I thought a big mistake Hillary made was not pushing for a DEM Senate.  Or waiting til the last two weeks to even talk about such.  Obama was largely neutered by 6 years of GOP Senate control, and Clinton's presidency would face the same roadblocks if the GOP retained Senate control, and yet it wasn't a major priority.
Maybe now Bloomberg or Soros or some other billionaire will dump a ton of money into knocking out Collins and a few others.  Not too late.

And of course, Biden needs to make this a huge example of the need for a DEM Senate and start touting all the candidates running and talking about the need for a Dem Senate every chance he gets (which he should have been doing already).
