In 2011, Davidson writes, Trump went into business with families from Azerbaijan, and was also "flirting" with Georgian and Kazakh businesses that have ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Between 2011 and 2016, all of those groups were known to be laundering money through golf courses.

Quote
Trump has also failed to pay vendors $287 million since 2010.

Quote
The investigation also showed that Trump has brought in $73 million from overseas ventures during his first two years as president.

Quote
“Over the past two decades, Mr. Trump has paid about $400 million less in combined federal income taxes than a very wealthy person who paid the average for that group each year,” wrote The Times’ David Leonhardt.

Quote
In Azerbaijan, Trump’s partner drew the scrutiny of The Associated Press and other news outlets amid questions about corruption and the country’s status as a waypoint for money laundering. The partner, Anar Mammadov, is the son of Azerbaijan’s transportation minister. The father was described in leaked American diplomatic cables as “notoriously corrupt, even for Azerbaijan.”

In an open letter, 70 former officials, including governors, senators, national security advisers, military generals and ambassadors from the Trump, George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush, Reagan, Nixon and Ford administrations, lauded the president for pursuing a "strong foreign and national security policy in America's interests

Quite the list.

It would be more impressive without this list of other Republicans opposing him and saying he is not fit to lead, including some from his administration:
https://www.defendingdemocracytogether.org/national-security/

11 ambassadors.
3 National Security Advisors
7 Directors, NSC staff
2 US Senators
3 US Reps
1 general
2 admirals
31 Secretaries, Under-secretaries, and Deputies, including 11 from State, 8 from Defense, 3 from Homeland, 2 from the Air Force, 1 from the Army, and 1 from the Navy.

And that letter didn't include most of the GOP former Reps, Senators, or governors supporting trump or Cohen or Powell.

So, sure, Kid, it's great that Trump found 70 prominent people from his own party to support him. But don't you see it as problematic that the divide is between GOP members?!

The Proud Boys rally in Oregon... not everything it was cracked up to be.

But they're still assholes, even when there are not thousands of them.

Mostly, yeah - but there are good people on both sides

I am keenly interested in what good things the good people segment of PB have done.   Can you share your research on this?

“Some White colonizers ‘adopted’ Black children. They ‘civilized’ these ‘savage’ children in the ‘superior’ ways of White people, while using them as props in their lifelong pictures of denial, while cutting the biological parents of these children out of the picture of humanity,” Kendi wrote Saturday.

There will be over-the-top critiques, as always.   Hopefully some of them more on point and less silly.

Kiid will share his research when trump releases his tax returns and all the supporting documents. It will be any day now, they both swear.

As William of Baskerville once noted, when your real enemies prove too strong, choose weaker enemies, the White House and its media adjunct want the debate to be over anything except the procedural hypocrisy and her views on the ACA. So they will seize on any argument tossed out about her that they think they can counter and pretend that is the issue.

As an aside for you, some of the old Granada TV Sherlock Holmes episodes, with Jeremy Brett (Best Holmes Ever) are available on YouTube. Watching The Adventure of Shoscombe Old Place - a minor Grand Guiginol entry into the canon - or, if you prefer, Conan - featured in a bit part a teenaged actor who I thought looked like a young, slightly puffy Michael Fassbender. Sure enough, it was... Jude Law.

Walker's civil suit also raises the possibility that Mattingly was wounded by friendly fire from one of the other officers.

It was a 9-millimeter bullet taken from Mattingly's leg

All most ofthe cops had 40-millimeters - and Walker and at least one cop a NINE.

FIFY, like the Kentucky DA “fixed” the outcome of the grand jury, delaying justice and ending his political career.

Yeah, Daniel Cameron is toast.

Keep that up and soon I will also be unable to tell them apart.   Did Law play Freud?   No,  it was Fassbender.   Well,  whatever,  one of them looks slightly less German,  or Irish.   Less of both those.   And then,  by elimination, more English.   So why would Law,  if he looks more English,  play Freud?   But he didn't, did he?   So it really was Fassbender.   Maybe.   But that's too easy.   Plenty of English can play Germans.   Olivier was a Nazi in Marathon Man,  no problem.

Could we just call them Judemike Lawbender?

Of.course, I have the same problem with the three Ryans - Reynolds, Gosling and Gyllenhall. Always have to look them up. I believe at least one if not more may not actually be named Ryan.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/28/us/eric-garner-mother-court-ruling/index.html

Quote
"Although the arrest and death of Eric Garner has received considerable attention in the press over the past six years, many facts relating to his arrest and death, and the investigations and any disciplinary actions taken in response to his death, have not been disclosed to the public or to the family of Mr. Garner," New York State Supreme Court Judge Joan Madden wrote in her Thursday decision.

What Carr petitioned for is known as a summary judicial inquiry, a procedure created by the New York City charter that allows for certain people to be allowed to petition a judge to conduct an inquiry into "any alleged violation or neglect of duty in relation to ... the government or affairs of the city" in which the people being investigated may be required to attend and be questioned.

The officer seen holding Garner in a chokehold before he died, Daniel Pantaleo, was given a disciplinary trial in 2019, when an administrative judge overseeing the trial found Pantaleo committed "grave misconduct" and recommended he be fired.

Pantaleo was fired by the NYPD days later. Pantaleo was never criminally charged. He sued the police department in 2019 asking for his reinstatement, but the case is no longer active.

Carr's petition asks the inquiry to go beyond Pantaleo's actions, and wants to ask other city officials questions about Garner's arrest and the force used by officers on him.

They also want to ask city officials about possible failures to train NYPD officers in the use of force and chokeholds and possible violations for filing "false official NYPD documents" concerning Garner's arrest.

Petition alleges possible false statements

The petition also seeks to ask city officials about possible false statements that were made during an internal investigation, leaking of Garner's arrest record and medical history, and about "incomplete and inaccurate" statements to the media by the city about the incident.
