https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/05/politics/eric-trump-deposition-nyag

Eric Trump sat for his deposition on Monday. (Virtually.)

They also want to talk to a real estate attorney and to Trump's tax attorney.

One of the areas of inquiry is the $21 million write off the Trumps took for a conservation easement they signed, claiming loss of value on this "investment property" that Eric has referred to as the family compound (making it not an investment property).

How is that “social justice” messaging of the NBA and the NFL playing in Peoria?
Not well.

Most of the messages on the back of NBA jerseys:

Education Reform
Vote
Say Their Names
Peace
Equality
Justice
Black Lives Matter

Are these sentiments actually controversial?
Or is it just (mainly) black people saying them that is threatening?
Point is it is causing millions of people to tune out.
When viewers disappear so do sponsors .

I think people's sports clocks are mistimed. NBA should have been over in June. And now the NBA has to compete with mostly the NFL and now the MLB tourney, which both are in the proper time slot.

Our sports circadian rhythm was fucked with.

I'm not at all sure a slogan on a shirt really impacts sports fan.

Although it might.

Red might be happier with, "chaos, stand-by, mask this, all lives matter, no new taxes, no new mail boxes"

But i'm just speculating

To imply the demise of the NBA and sponsors backing away due to ithe NBA's response to social injustice and overt racism, seems a little premature.

How do you know why "millions of people" are tuning out?

Other sports have had issues as well, in part because sports are compressed into the same season. But it does not surprise me that the demographic that still consumes sports from broadcast TV is the demographic most likely to view social justice negatively. 18-35 supposedly is still strong anyway, last I read.

But of course it is easier for Red to discuss Hoops ratings than Trump's bizarre decision to go all Typhoid Donny on his staff, or the fall out from Typhoid Donny's disastrous debate performance. I look forward to Red releasing a lot of squirrels over the next four weeks.

Red seems happier playing 3-card Donnie to deny and distract from the reality of the disease, death and depression of Trump's dystopia.

Not sure how or why Red's and the Republican party's take on America became so perverted.

But that's tainted water under the crumbling bridge, I think we can all agree its time for decent Americans to vote and drive the Republicans out, and then clean the water and rebuild our bridges, before the fucking Republicans poison us all.

In the NBA’s case it may be impacted as well by the league bowing to China.
For the NFL it is tied obviously to L’Affaire Kaepernicke.
Considering its previous dominance in TV it is now slipping even though  it is the only major sport to adhere to its regular season dates and times.

Have to say, Trump struggling to breathe didn't seem terribly reassuring to me.  And made his decision to leave the hospital questionable.  Maybe being at the WH appears better than being in hospital.   Also, the bizarre drive around the hospital and his physician dodging and not disclosing info also isn't reassuring.
Trump sure is a weird guy.  Everyone will be better off with him gone (one way or an other).

Facebook removed a Trump post about flu being more deadly than COVID-19. Twitter marked a similar post as bogus.

Something good came out of Trump's diagnosis!

https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/06/health/americans-mask-trump-covid-wellness-trnd/index.html

Apparently, 25% more people are wearing masks than were.

US trade deficit up to $67 billion, a 14-year high

How could that be?

President Trump vowed to slash it, just like he would the National Debt!
https://www.cnbc.com/video/2016/09/15/trump-we-will-slash-americas-trade-deficit.html

Oh, wait...

He did it just like he did the other - that is to say, he made it worse. And that was before COVID-19.

Hey, bet if Biden wins, suddenly the GOP will be all worked up over the national debt again?!

I'm sure we would all be surprised if they did that.
