Trump freezes H1-B visas.

Good.
More jobs for Americans, at good wages, hopefully.
Cheap labour should be abolished.

Shouldn't you be more worried about how great Australia is rather than concern yourself with the USA, given that your are allegedly an Aussie?

It's very odd. I can tell you that here in America, no one cares how great Australia is. No one actually thinks of Australia, except for maybe wondering why they can't spell syrah or pronounce words without sounding like someone is standing on their big toe.

Maybe it's time you thought more about your PM than our POTUS.

GEN X. That's who is the problem in this country. Entitled self-important twits who came of age in the worst Presidential era of the 20 century and fell in love with a crook and a charlatan, and now they think the current crook and charlatan is the second coming. Fuck Gen X.

The Pew Research Center estimates that Trump beat Hillary Clinton by nine percentage points among voters 65 and older.

The latest polls this year show a radically different situation. A CNN poll released yesterday found Biden leading Trump by 21 points — 60 percent to 39 percent — among likely voters 65 and older. An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday found an even bigger gap: 27 points. Dave Wasserman of The Cook Political Report calls it “the ‘gray revolt’ against Trump.”

Why is it happening? Older Americans began to drift away from Trump even before the coronavirus. Some don’t like his “chaotic and unconventional presidency,” as Ella Nilsen of Vox points out. Others may be more open to supporting Biden than Clinton — given his gender and what polls show to be his lower negativity ratings and less liberal image. Baby boomers also have experience living in a less polarized country, when vote switching was more common.

But the virus seems to be a factor, too. Many older Americans understand that other countries have handled the virus better than the U.S. They are tired of the restrictions of pandemic life. And many boomers are afraid — for good reason, given that about 150,000 of the 210,000 confirmed U.S. virus deaths have occurred among people 65 or older.

There are only two age groups that continue to support Trump, according to Times polls conducted over the past month. The first is a narrow slice of people older than baby boomers, typically in their late 70s, who have long been conservative. The second is a group of middle-aged people who include the youngest boomers and the oldest members of Generation X.

Republicans hope to get to 54 senators so the vote is Mitt/Suzy/Lisa proofed

Been following close state races lately?

Report: Democrat Cal Cunningham Mistress Confirms Affair

RALEIGH, N.C.
A race in North Carolina critical to control of the U.S. Senate has been thrown into turmoil over allegations of personal misconduct by Democrat Cal Cunningham, a married man who had an extramarital relationship with a consultant.
Previously undisclosed text messages obtained by The Associated Press and additional interviews show that the relationship extended beyond suggestive texts to an intimate encounter as recently as July.
Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the Senate, and the contest between Cunningham and Republican Sen. Thom Tillis has been among the most watched in the country, with polls showing a tight race and both parties investing heavily in the outcome.

Always a good sign for down-ballot races when a Senator from his party can not say they are proud of their support of the incumbent President:

Not a good sign for the top of the ballot either, of course.

If I were Kamala Harris, I would name all of the people in the Trump Admin and the GOP hierarchy who have become infected.  Name and job title.  Then say you'll name all the Biden and DEM leaders who have contracted the virus -- are there any?

Talk about how face masks, which trump mocked Biden for -- are a very good protective measure as is the plexiglass barrier that the pence team didn't want.
But of course Trump showed up to the last debate with the virus and a contingent of infected people.  Many of whom Pence has been around.

then I would also list all of the Trump campaign figures and officials who have been convicted and gone to jail, and note the same for the Obama-Biden 8 years.
Asking people to vote for a return to normalcy, to competence, to a lack of drama, and a return to competency.   State that Biden-Harris will work to contain the virus and get the country back to work and school and back to normal.  Mention all the Trump blunders and poor handling, etc.  Etc.

Have you missed that this president wants people to WORK?

THAT is the best relief.

You fundamentally misunderstand what the bill is about, saying work is the best relief when the relief bill would keep people in the airline industry, local government, and countless small businesses employed.

Grows tiresome explaining what economic stimulus does to Republicans/Trumpists all the time.  I think they are simply too stupid to get it.

Turnout, turnout, turnout.

Votes are pouring in across Georgia, with over 262,000 absentee ballots returned to county election offices four weeks before Election Day.

The number of absentee votes so far is already higher than the total cast in the 2016 presidential election, when 202,500 voters mailed in ballots.

In all, nearly 1.5 million Georgia voters have requested absentee ballots, according to data from the secretary of state’s office.

High interest in absentee voting puts Georgia on track for a record-breaking presidential election, with total turnout estimated to reach 5 million. About one-third of all voters are projected to cast absentee ballots, with the rest voting in person during early voting that starts Monday or on Election Day on Nov. 3.

Russia has gotten stronger on Trump's watch.

As has China, North Korea, and every country run by an authoritarian who can now point to the US as justification for their behavior.

It is simply impossible to argue that this Administration has not made the world a substantially less free and more dangerous place.  And our "president" thinks he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.
