Sheldon Whitehouse conducting a masterful summation on the crisis of dark money.

I agree

I look forward to his questioning tomorrow after his threatening tone.

The USA needs a new spaceship company now that the Space Shuttles are no longer being made and used.

How many spaceship companies do you think we need, Tony?

We already have more than one - and NASA has no interest in owning their own ships when the development costs can be born by private industry.

Shuttle

Dragon:

Starliner:

Virgin Galactic's VSS Unity:

Or for that matter, Orion, from NASA:

Biden's remark was a "spirit of the law, " not "letter of the law" take on the ACB push.

Silver lining of a more Originalist court might be that legislators take more care in crafting legislation that passes Constitutional muster.   If Originalists have integrity (and it's possible ACB might),  then they are a force towards shrinking the SCt, reducing its active role relative to Congress and state legislatures.  Whatever Barret's minuses,  I found her answers to be somewhat reassuring that she wouldn't turn into a religious activist justice.   But more questioning is needed,  in terms of what she did on the appellate bench.

Sheldon Whitehouse conducting a masterful summation on the crisis of dark money.

The esteemed senator from RI told a compelling horror story of American justice gone bad

with pictures and circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one,

it reminded me of...

you can get anything you want...

with dark money ads and taunts

"What were you arrested for, kid?" and I said, "litterin'"

next time it may be voting

or driving Peggy Sue down to the women's clinic.

Eli Lily joins the delay party, but in the antibody treatment realm rather than the vaccine realm:

The Republican Party admitted that they are responsible for the misleading drop boxes in California.

The people responsible for both decision and execution should go to jail.

I suspect that they will not.

Quote
Missouri suppresses voting even worse.

"Here's part of the RELENTLESS voter suppression in Missouri: They changed the law this summer so you have to have to use a notary to vote by mail-in ballot. So my friend and others in Kansas City went through the expense and work to become notaries to help out disenfranchised citizens for free.

"Then the Republican politicians find out there are people trying to help, and CHANGE THE LAW FOR REGISTERING AS A NOTARY. Now there's a small additional step. So all the people who filed before the law change, who were waiting for their stamps, are now out of luck, because the notary stamp place CLAIMS they just need to make sure they are compliant so they are waiting for the state officials, and guess what? It can't just happen right away. (How much do you want to bet, they will suddenly release the stamps just AFTER the election?)

ALSO, my friend spent all weekend assuring voters that they can drop off their mail-in ballots to Union Station. BUT that was before he saw that a judge had suspended that convenience this weekend, and now they are required once more to mail in their mail-in ballots. Those people he talked to - what are the chances they are going to get THAT memo???!!!

"I'm so angry with everything conservatives are doing to suppress and repress. I am ITCHING with loathing."
