Designated Survivor is now on Netflix.   Watched the first coupla episodes,  not bad,  with a scary/interesting premise:  what if a bomb wiped out POTUS,  the entire Congress,  SCOTUS,  cabinet,  and anyone else attending the SOTU speech?   Only two people, the HUD secretary, and a congresswoman survive.   The HUD guy,  played by Kiefer Sutherland, becomes the POTUS, and turns out to be a man of great integrity.   As escapism,  I think this series might be satisfying.
Sadly, I thought the show got progressively worse. Though maybe I'll use some of the plot points to buttress my arguments here

Haha.

Still haven't seen WW, but it's so often mentioned here that I'll probably have a look.

I see,  looking at the wiki list of actual designated survivors, that David Bernhardt was the most recent.   Yikes.

Some pretty funny lines on DS,  btw.   Especially as regards the HUD guy lacking experience to be POTUS.   One critic says something like "what's he know about running the country?   HUD helps people find housing - he's just a glorified real estate agent! "

That script was written before fall 2016, when the show premiered.  Yup.

Another Great Year for Trump!!

Well, yeah - other than the virus - but we all suffer together through that.

Trump knows he’s a lost cause. Word should filter out to Kiid and Red a few months after he’s finished telling it to his donors.

Look into the economic performance pre-Covid19.

The ABC vs. NBC alone result was one “virtually no one in the TV business expected,” CNN reports. And there’s one very important message to take from this.

"The boilermakers overwhelmingly endorse me, okay?" Biden responded. "So the Boilermakers Union has endorsed me because I sat down with them, went into great detail with leadership, exactly what I would do, number one."

The International Boilermakers Union, however, made it clear on its website that it has not endorsed anyone. The Local 154 endorsed President Trump in a September message from business leader John Hughes

https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/17/health/us-coronavirus-saturday/index.html

10 states reported their highest number of new COVID-19 cases thus far.

The US had its highest number of new cases nationally since July for a single day, with more than 70,000. The 7 day average for new daily cases is its highest in two months.

We've gone up roughly 60% in the average daily cases since we hit a low about 5 weeks ago, to the level we were at an equivalent time before that.
