.

By every metric, the president has met the challenge as best as possible.

Pure deceit.

SCOTUS defends BLM:

There is something about the institution that elevates people, once they arrive on the SCOTUS bench.  Sometimes they start to take seriously that bit about dispassionate and nonpartisan interpretation of the law.

A message from Lindsey Graham:

I think this happens organically.  You don't marry and stay with someone with polar opposite views.
"The husband is responsible for how the wife votes" does not happen organically out side.of the Comey Barrett household Handmaid's Tale.

Ha!  But seriously... who is marrying someone (and staying with them) that has different political ideals?

James Carville and Mary Matalin say hello.

They are putting an unscalable fence around the famous superfund site on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C. that’s just about to be put under new management.

"unscalable"

Mexico is paying for it.

Another GOP/Trump effort to sow confusion in the election process has been fended off for the time being.

And another couple nights of Trump's campaign leaving hundreds or thousands standing in the cold long after the rally was over.

Trump will wind up missing all of the supporters he’s killed off or gotten too sick to vote.

I expect there will be some husbands sleeping on couches for a while, if they try to follow the advice in that "brothers..." tweet.

And yes, there are "mixed marriages," ideologically.  I've known several, and I know they aren't all that rare.  Usually, there are enough agreements on basic principles that the disagreements can survive as humorous banter or at least mutual deference.

It's hard for me to believe.  I know a couple who grew up in New Jersey. I worked with the guy, he's a democrat.  They got married, moved to rural PA. She got into guns.  Now they're voting Trump.  I know it's not the husband's idea, but he has to at least agree with his wife.

Of course, a national passport standard photo ID card would sort out who's who, who is a US citizen and who is not.

What's at stake for Australia at the US election

Australia is exposed to rising tensions between the United States and China in the wake of this week's presidential election, as the next administration in Washington DC faces a test of its power in the Pacific.
Security experts and former political leaders see a potential clash in the region whether US President Donald Trump or Democrat hopeful Joe Biden wins the presidential race, setting up a crucial role for other nations - including Australia - in keeping the peace.

The Morrison government has factored the tensions into its planning as it prepares for either another volatile administration under Trump or a return to more orthodox foreign policy under Biden.

While the government claims strong connections with the Trump camp, Australian ministers and officials have also met Biden advisers including Jake Sullivan, who was the policy director under Hillary Clinton when she was the US Secretary of State, Asian affairs specialist Kurt Campbell and foreign policy veteran Nicholas Burns.
