Quote
Donald Trump has accused the Democratic Party and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of conspiring to delay the announcement of Pfizer and BioNTech’s potential coronavirus vaccine until after last week’s election

Interesting
To someone studying paranoid ideation, perhaps. Or Trump's psychologist, which sort of amounts to the same thing.

Under the law, the Biden-Harris transition teams cannot start meeting with current officials across the government or access secure facilities to work with classified information before the head of the little-known General Services Administration (GSA) determines that the pair are likely the next president and vice president. The GSA administrator has declined to make that determination.

"We believe that the time has come for the GSA administrator to promptly ascertain Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as president-elect and vice president-elect," an unidentified Biden-Harris transition official said Monday night on a telephone briefing with reporters, adding that the transition could pursue legal options if the administration continues to stall.

No rush at this time, Kam.

No rush at this time, Kam.

In 2016, they made the ascertainment that Trump had won the contest around 10 a.m. the morning after Election Day.

What's the hold-up?

A Trump-appointee named Emily Murphy.

“It turns out the news is a whole lot better” lately, McConnell said on the Senate floor. “I hope our Democratic colleagues will finally put aside their all-or-nothing obstruction and let the targeted pandemic relief -- targeted pandemic relief is what we need -- let it move forward.”

Fucking hypocrite.

Fauci makes a positive contribution

U.S. infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci said he will take Pfizer Inc's new coronavirus vaccine if the Food and Drug Administration approves it and that he has confidence in the company and the government agency.

Asked on MSNBC if he would take the vaccine, Fauci said: "I'm going to look at the data, but I trust Pfizer. I trust the FDA. These are colleagues of mine for decades, the career scientists. If they look at this data, and they say this data is solid, let's go ahead and approve it, I promise you, I will take the vaccine, and I will recommend that my family take the vaccine."

Supreme Court appears ready to uphold Affordable Care Act over latest challenge from Trump, GOP

Alito and Breyer and others questioning whether the states have standing.
That is, how are they harmed?

Kavanaugh sees this as a simple severability case if the $0 mandate is deemed unconstitutional (ie not a tax because it doesn't raise any revenue anymore).

Roberts thinks it's bunk in many ways.

Right now, Thomas probably the only justice ready to strike down the entire ACA.
Possibly Barrett too, but would she want to start off so harsh and strident?

I'm guessing SCOTUS might just dump the case of lack of standing.
And if there are 5 or 6 votes agreeing the $0 mandate is not a tax and therefore beyond Congress' power, they'll likely be 6 or more votes for severability, just cutting out the mandate and leaving the law in place.

Not surprising.  Pandemic raging and the SCt is going to take insurance away from 23M Americans?  Not likely.  Roberts is going to keep things under control for a while longer, until the other 5 conservatives start ignoring him and doing as they please.

Questioning by justices is a rather unreliable guide as to how they will vote.

What’s the downside for humoring him?’: A GOP official’s unintentionally revealing quote about the Trump era

No rush at this time, Kam.

Meeting for coffee with their underlings and front line personnel who preceded trump is a much more sane and accurate way to understand what is happening in this imposter grift misadministration than talking to any of the principals. You only speak to them to see if they want to give up and come clean or if they accidentally spill admissible evidence of the crime you learned about by talking to everyone else. Biden’s team of thousands has been on this for months.

The other major aspect of GSA transition acknowledgement is funds. Biden had set aside and continues to raise funds for a transition matching last week sometime what the GSA was going to give him.

She’s perfectly within her rights to hold off making the call on a still contested election while votes are still being counted. Act blue and others are fund raising off her intransigence to tunes that will easily surpass what the government would have released to Biden.

It’s the kind of meaningless backfiring dick move we can expect from the waning misadministration, along with a slurry of truly impactful awful and maliciously stupid actions.
