Trump destroys everything he touches. Casinos, airlines, his fradulent charities, Trump U, He lost billions and never paid his taxes. Then through his gross incomptence he threatened the public health of this country, and the economy.

Starting Tuesday, the country of almost 9 million inhabitants will impose a limited curfew, banning people from leaving their homes except to go to work, get essential supplies, to exercise or to help people who need assistance. The partial lockdown is set to last until Dec. 6 .

I think you basically trust people to make a good faith effort to follow the laws the gov't sets down for the protection of all.  The loopholes are fairly wide and generous.  Hell, you can claim that walking around is your exercise.

You only move to enforcement when folks are blatantly flouting the law and especially congregating in numbers.  And even then, police can simply give a warning and ask folks to return home.  For those who prove stubborn and resistant, I'd rec a fine of say $50.  Write em a ticket and let them continue to enjoy their unauthorized excursion in public.  Or just ignore them if the numbers aren't large.

The goal is to reduce contact to reduce transmissions.  So 100% compliance isn't necessary.
I'd also have police stocked with packages of masks, so they can hand them out to anyone bare-faced in public. 

In Shanghai the lockdown was entirely voluntary for people.  I could go out any time I wanted to anywhere.  It's just that all businesses were closed except food and drug and big box stores and hospitals.  So largely there was nowhere to go.  Buses and subways kept running, intended to ferry essential workers to work.

It's sad that many Americans can't cooperate and take simple measures to protect the health of everyone in society.  A very selfish and limited view of right s and gov't power.

I didn't read the article yet.
But I assumed the money Trump was siphoning off would indeed be used for his legal defense, just related to his businesses and personal activities and nothing to do with fighting the election results.  I think paying off campaign debt is too responsible for Trump who has made a career of stiffing contractors and vendors.  I could be wrong, but I'd assume Trump will use the newly raised money for his personal use and not to pay off campaign debts.

It’s a grift that will suck ever more and more voraciously every dollar that could have wound up as a small dollar donation to a real conservative candidate up or down the ticket. As a leach and impediment to right wing politics, trump is an infestation that will infect and debilitate conservative and republican circles for years to come. I guess if the money goes to a Trump controlled PAC, then the Trump family can only pocket it by using that money to pay for their stays in Trump hotels and properties while they do campaign and other party work, and renting out space when they hold more fundraisers.  I assume a chunk of that money will go to Mar-a-lago and the Trump DC hotel.
