More than 1 million U.S. children have been diagnosed with COVID-19, a figure the AAP president called “staggering and tragic.”

No masks, crowded gatherings, and school openings are the Trump way. We now have to wait For him to depart. There is no hope until the megalomaniac is gone. We trust Biden will listen to health scientists and educators.

Red's terror at possibly losing his tax cut manifests itself in defending the undefendable.

Which ones?  Opinions are all over the map on this.

Joe has been careful at HIS gatherings, careful not to HAVE such gatherings of large numbers.  But has said little else of the others.

Can we as a nation curtail public gathering to the point it makes sense?  Constitutionally is this possible?  This to include protests on each side.

It's like Biden hasn't told us who he'll listen to on the medical end of things, already, and won't be telling us who he'll be listening to on the education thing. Hey, the GOP might even let Biden name his own cabinet, so long as they deem them sufficiently pliant.

No they're not,  if you're listening to trained science professionals speaking from their area of expertise.

Vaccines are great and hopefully coming real soon.  Celebrate away, especially if they work as good as early promotion inidcates.

Though it'll take a good chunk of next year to get them widespread throughout the US and world.  At least Trump wasn't an anti-vaxxer and supported that area of medical science and aided the process.  So Trump gets some credit, although the vaccines were coming along on the exact same schedule with or without anything the Trump Admin did (for proof, see Pfizer and Astra-Zeneca).

But that doesn't excuse a year of disastrous politicization of basic health care in which tens of millions of Americans were infected and at least a quarter million died of the Trump virus.

And it's right to ask why Americans and the US Gov't is going to pay 10x or more for a vaccine than they will in the UK and probably most of Euroland.
Just how much profit will Moderna and Pfizer make from these Trump contracts?  Biden Admin should look into that.  Companies shouldn't be pocketing billions to contain a pandemic.

Red's response is rather garbled.
$2.50 a dose isn't better than $20+ a dose? Etc.
Try making some sense.  Instead of staying intentionally dense.

You seem to have all the answers.  Stay on it - and let us know about those profits.

Isn't the third vaccine at just 50% to date?

Is Britain to pay just $2.50 per dose for the 40 million doses it ordered from Pfizer?

The AZ study showed 90% effective in one trial.  60% effective in the other.
Overall 70+% effective.  But the 90% efficacy was giving half a dose at first, and then a full dose 3 weeks later.  The lower figure was for a full dose up front and then another full dose 3 weeks out.  They really don't know why the lesser initial dose was much more successful.  But if that pans out, it's good news as you use less vaccine so can stretch production further.  It also doesn't need any special cooling techniques.

Overall, I don't think the Trump Admin was careful or concerned about gov't spending.  With PPE and ventilators it was throw money all around, including to cronies with inexperienced start-ups.  I think Trump just looks at gov't money as easy money, ripe to be plucked.  And I think the vaccine contracts will reflect that lax and perhaps even fraudulent standard.  Biden's team needs to audit all the contracts and rescind any garbage contracts to useless cronies.  look for fraud throughout the year because it's in there.

You seem to have an internet connection.  And a question.
See if you can figure out the next step ...
