Have to say,  using Ignore on Kid is pretty handy.   Much easier to have, and to follow,  actual discussions of issues.   And I'm not tempted to click on propaganda links.  Might add Uno,  just to block some of the venomous and utterly tedious off-topic bickering.

Kid-Its a small world.

The Rep congressman (McClintock) featured in your Fox link is the congressman representing Rocklin, Ca,

Rocklin as you may or may not remember is that small town in Ca that held a hoops tourney marred by a covid-19 outbreak, and which you said stats would ID as a Biden stronghold.

FTR McClintock won re-election with over 54% of the vote and Trump won the district.

Sorry FAC-but like I was saying...

Mass murderers of history seem to sort into two main groups -  direct killing and letting starvation do the job.   The starvers leave themselves an out,  where they can pretend "those dead people killed themselves because they didn't cooperate with the program. "   Trump would be closer to the starver camp,  since it was based on a passive inaction of letting shit happen.

So, Trump is like the British.

Makes sense.

7 House races still to call, all being led by Republicans and some by great margin.  Had Dems been leading likely certain of them would already have been called

US is 'rounding the corner into a calamity,' expert says, with Covid-19 deaths projected to double soon

Quote
while there is more good news on the vaccine front, for now Americans need to "hunker down" and prepare for a difficult winter ahead, according to Dr. Leana Wen, an emergency physician and a visiting professor at George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health.

"We cannot let our guard down," she told CNN Friday night. "The vaccines will make a big difference in the spring and the summer; they're not going to make a difference right now."

Based on the current Covid-19 numbers in the US, the country is far from rounding the corner, she said.

"If anything, we are rounding the corner into a calamity," Wen said. "We're soon going to exceed well more than 2,000 deaths, maybe 3,000, 4,000 deaths every single day here in the US."

That projection has been echoed by other experts including Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a professor of medicine at George Washington University, who predicted Wednesday the country's daily death toll would likely double in 10 days, and soon see "close to 4,000 deaths a day."

Yet another complete and utter waste of our court system's time.

New lawsuit by conspiracy minded Trump ally Sidney Powell seeks to nix Georgia election results
Sidney Powell, the attorney recently removed from the president's legal team, filed a lawsuit in Georgia this week alleging, without evidence, a vast conspiracy against Trump built on unproven claims of numerous instances of voter fraud in the state.

The 104-page suit, filed in the U.S District Court in Atlanta on behalf of Trump electors and Republican officials, among others, is demanding numerous longshot remedies, including decertifying the state's election results, preventing the results from being transmitted to the electoral college and disqualifying Biden's electors in favor of Trump's electors.

"While the bedrock of American elections has been transparency, almost every crucial aspect of Georgia’s November 3, 2020, General Election was shrouded in secrecy, rife with 'errors,' and permeated with anomalies so egregious as to render the results incapable of certification," the suit states. "Accordingly, the results for President and Congress in the November 3, 2020 election must be set aside. The results are infected with Constitutional violations."

Biden won the state of Georgia by more than 12,000 votes, a victory confirmed by a hand tally last week. State elections officials also began a machine recount at the request of Trump’s team, permitted because he lost by less than 0.5 percentage points.

Like many suits before it, Powell’s case relies on affidavits from various poll watchers, audit watchers and self-described experts who claim, without documentation or supporting evidence, that they witnessed a wide range of fraudulent activity, including switching votes from Biden to Trump, counting illegal votes and shutting observers out of the process.

The suit rests heavily on a debunked conspiracy theory that has been trafficked widely on the internet which blames the Dominion Voting Systems for secretly flipping thousands of votes from Trump to Biden. Veteran elections officials from both parties have refuted the claim, as did the Trump administration’s own cybersecurity expert.

Dominion released a lengthy statement Friday rebutting the claims in the lawsuit – calling it "a bizarre election fraud conspiracy that—were it possible—would necessarily require the collaboration of thousands of participants… This quite simply did not occur."

"Sidney Powell's wild and reckless allegations are not only demonstrably false, but they have also led to stalking, harassment, and death threats to Dominion employees," the Dominion statement says. "We intend to hold Ms. Powell, and those aiding and abetting her fraudulent actions, accountable for any harm that may occur as a result."

Other conspiracy theories cited in the lawsuit as "evidence" include an affidavit from a man who claims he went undercover in Antifa and overheard a top Dominion official talking about rigging the election. The lawsuit also claims, with no evidence, that a water pipe burst on election night, which briefly delayed the counting of ballots, was part of a conspiracy to prevent Trump poll watchers from seeing them process ballots.

Short form: Giuliani and Ellis are pretending to try to change things, but it's all a sham.

Pennsylvania House legislature introduces legislation to dispute election results

On Friday, the Pennsylvania House legislature introduced a resolution that disputes the statewide 2020 election results.

With the Pennsylvania legislative session ending Monday, the move is likely to be vetoed by Democratic Gov Tom Wolf even if it were to move quickly through the state government.

The resolution would also put the state’s Republican majority in jeopardy as it would threaten to invalidate the outcome of several GOP victories.

and another misleading claim by the Trump team:
Quote

Trump legal team announces hearing in Arizona

As President Trump’s legal team continues to look to state legislatures to overturn election results, Trump Campaign legal adviser Jenna Ellis tweeted on Friday an event invitation to a Monday hearing with members of the Arizona Legislature on election integrity.

Ellis announced that she and Trump Attorney Rudy Guiliani will be “present from DC,” along with members of the Arizona Legislature.

“Arizona State Legislature to hold hearing on election integrity Monday, November 30. Mayor @RudyGiuliani and I will be present on behalf of President @realDonaldTrump,” she tweeted

The hearing is being held from a Phoenix Hyatt Hotel rather than from the state capitol.

The event description falsely claims, “...State Legislatures have the sole authority to select their representatives to the Electoral College.”

Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs and Republican members of the state legislature have publicly shot down those claims.

And one final tidbit that is important to know, as these jerks go scurrying about the country, trying to cause mischief while lying to the American people and the credulous legislatures from the GOP:

Shortly after the Trump Campaign announced a similar hearing in Michigan, Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield told ABC News the House Oversight Committee would not meet for a hearing on the election.

You'd think if there were "massive fraud" that it would be easy to detect and provide evidence of.

6 states.  Should be some evidence somewhere ...

I think that WaPo article is confusing communism and socialism.
Communism = state ownership of most of the economy.
Socialism has many gradations including the democratic socialism of Scandinavia.
And the more extreme strongman socialism of Venezuela.

What's interesting is that even though China is ruled by a communist party, they've largely ditched Marx for the market (Market-Leninist), but the government controls and directs much of the economy in concert with the privatized half.  So it more resembles a fascist gov't.

Otherwise, during the Great Leap Forward, Mao got the simplistic idea that steel production was the best measure of a country's economic and military prowess.  So the entire country was mobilized to increase steel production.  Though much of it made with great effort in every village was inferior pig iron with limited uses.

Worse, farmers and households were often forced to melt down their frying pans and tools to boost steel production.  This meshed with the collectivization in which individuals and households weren't supposed to have private ownership, but everything would be communal.  Obviously this was ridiculously short-sighted, poorly planned, and the resulting steel was often crappy.  It also didn't help that  before the collectivization deadline, lots of peasants started slaughtering and eating their livestock, instead of donating it to the collective.

Bad ideas + huge mismanagement.  Which does sound like Trump and CV-19.

I think some major reasons why the Great Leap Forward has often been buried is that
1) it was soon after followed by a decade long stretch of turmoil and upheaval and deaths known as the Cultural Revolution (1965-75).  So the earlier shorter disaster was pushed aside by the more immediate and longer horrors.  A US parallel might be how the Korean War was overshadowed by the longer uglier Vietnam War.  In many ways the Cult Rev was a reaction by Mao and his cronies to hang on to power and ruthlessly stop any backlash resulting from the Great Leap Forward disaster.
2) China remained communist with Mao as its founding father and has effectively kept a lid on archival research and suppressed news of the GLF.
3) it was mostly a countryside disaster and death toll, which makes it harder to get info and interview people and document, allowing it to be kept hidden more effectively.  Countryside starvation policies, like Stalin's in Ukraine are slowly unfolding disasters hidden from urban media centers, and are less dramatic than urban riots and such.  The Cultural Revolution, with a large urban component, has been documented much better and presented as a warning to personality cults run wild.

Federal government presents plans for changing what's grown and how in some areas to cut down on wildfires.

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/plan-released-reduce-massive-wildfires-us-west-74433990

The effort to define the changes began during the Obama administration and has continued during the Trump administration, even through changes in how the land was used and rented and for what purposes.

Some very nice people live in trailer parks.
More people every day are living in them and in their cars, vans, travel trailers etc.
Things are getting too expensive in the world today for Average Joe to live the life he expected to.

Hilary Swank grew up in a trailer park.
