In the Biden Green New Deal you get to keep your burgers, T-bones, and tri-tip.

Mitch wouldn't even give Garland a hearing.

Very seldom does this occur for a Cabinet post
It had never happened for a SCOTUS nominee before Garland. McConnell gives zero fucks about anything except power.
Harry Reid set the stage.  Mitch warned him and now the dems have no one to blame but themselves.
Horse shit. Reid responded to McConnell's.decision to use the power of the minority to block all DC appointments. It has been nothing but McConnell powerplays since 1/21/09.

Because Mitch is a stickler for process.

LMAO

Well... the process cannot be changed.  Confirmation hearings have specific procedures/rules.

Isn't that right, Merrick Garland?

And boy, did the Judiciary Committee honor their process for Amy Coney Barrett!!

Confirmation hearing procedures and rules get changed whenever the majority wants to change them. Or, more to the point these days, whenever McConnell wants to change them.

Personal advice to the group: Don't get even a mild case of COVID.

You ok
Except for the cough, the narcolepsy and the inability to walk across the room without needing 10 minutes of recovery time, A-OK!

So sorry to hear you need to recover - I hope you manage to come through it with only memories and no permanent gifts.

How overly simplistic.  And still wrong.

Of course the Trump economy was almost exactly a continuation of the Obama economy.  Charts and graphs amply demonstrate that.

Trump's signature economic policy was huge tax cuts for the wealthy and companies.  Intended to juice the economy, it had very little effect except to raise stock prices, more wealth for the wealthy, partly through stock buybacks.  The intended investment surge simply never materialized.  $1T squandered that could have been used for pandemic relief (or infrastructure if the Virus never blew in)

But Geez, why am I arguing with Red's LOL and uninformed vagueness??

Force of habit?

Red is loud and he makes no sense but he remains certain.

Red is loud and he makes no sense but he remains a cretin.

As is easily ascertained.

Mitch McConnell is someone very easy to wish mute, immobile, and consigned to the dust bin of history.

Sorry.   Unfortunate sign of the times -- when a forum regular goes radio silent for a few days,  I wonder if they got covid.   Take care of yourself.   Turmeric added to chicken broth helps the immune system,  FWiW.   Hope your wife is okay.

There was never a case to roll out massive tax cuts.
The Trump goal was to goose the economy (at the cost of $1T in debt) to try to assure Trump's reelection.

The money could have been spent much wiser and better - say on education, insuring more Americans, infrastructure, affordable housing -- things that would actually bring a return on investment and improve the country.

In hindsight loading up an extra $1T in debt in order to boost the stock market was extremely ill-considered.  Is this even debatable?

Where’s the profit in any of that?

You wanna understand the GOP donor class?

Think the Ferengi of the Star Trek universe.

Of course it is not debatable since you are living in a fictional world. No wonder you have decided to leave the room.
The tax cuts and regulation roll backs spurred the economy and put people to work.  Across the board unemployment numbers fell to record lows. Trump beat Obama/Hillary by winning over Obama democrats and they stayed with the GOP last month.  In case you aren’t paying attention while  Trump lost the Presidency the GOP rode a blue wave almost everywhere else. Pelosi’ s prediction of a 12 seat gain in the House was a 9 seat LOSS.
The GOP outnumbers the dems in the Senate  for the fourth consecutive election.  At the State level republicans flipped three legislatures and now control 31.
Oh, and one other item you seem to be pretty naive about.  When the stock market goes up it lifts all ships because when investors make more money they pay more taxes.

Not so much that progressives are on a flawed path, as that the Right has gained traction in social media distorting that progressive path and concocting boogeymen (like "defunding" and "no one can own a car" and "open borders and special payments to undocumenteds").  What we need are real conversations where people don't try to score points by falsely characterizing policy positions.  To those who have no mental immune system, the social media disinformation is highly infectious.

And it feeds Culture War, when we need Culture Conversation.
