Big thumb
I hope you find the proper part of your anatomy for insertion.
The graphic underscores two misguided notions implying government activity in any part of of society is considered socialist or that private activity could be considered socialist if it produces a result of which socialists approve.

None of the graphic examples are socialism.
As in NONE.

Sure, but it's not what your side of the political divide said then, Ward.

With both Social Security and Medicare, the conservatives were pushing hard against them as socialist.

Same as with the current push against Medicare for all or universal healthcare.

Quote
In each case, the American Medical Association (AMA) was the chief culprit in killing the legislation, spending millions to brand the concept as “socialized medicine,” an ambiguous characterization that nonetheless made it intrinsically un-American. Conservatives also cast a wary eye. Actor Ronald Reagan, a darling of the growing conservative movement and soon-to-be California gubernatorial candidate, warned that such a program would “invade every area of freedom in this country” and would, in years to come, have Americans waxing wistful to future generations about “what it was like in America when men were free.”

Can't make it up

Uproar today over White House workers at front of the line to be vaccinated.

I think it's only reasonable - the most vulnerable are those who should get the vaccine and the WH folks have proven to be among the most vulnerable in the country, due to their chief!

But I suspect that it's watching the prez and Rudy get the treatment that nobody else can get that has that button pushed.

But, the "climate change emergency" devotees want it all now...which is simply impossible.

We want the CHANGES now.

We don't want the coal plants all stopped and the gas-powered cars turned off NOW.

We wanted us to move towards their all being off a decade or two ago, but people like YOU and #1 Radio Host who spent decades denying there was a problem and then (and still) denying that man-made pollutants could possibly be a major factor delayed it, so the sources cannot be turned off now.

So, we want the change to start now. 2030, 2035, they are a ton better than the never that the outgoing oval office occupant was aiming for.

Stop making up shit.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7820169/Prime-Minister-Scott-Morrison-rejects-climate-change-protesters-call-ban-coal-exports.html

Radical climate change activists, inspired by 16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, want Australia to immediately cease exporting coal, as the world's two most populated nations build new coal-fired power stations - with Australian coal.

. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has vowed to put jobs ahead of green activism
. Coal exports to the likes of China, India, Japan and Korea worth $52billion a year
. The coal mining industry also employs 50,000 people in both thermal, coking
. He declared coal would stay, four days after protesters stormed Kirribilli House

The US has had more than 5% of its population catch COVID-19, so far.

We have the 4th highest rate of cases of any country with more than 700,000 people. 9th even including them. We're the only country in the worst 20 with a population over 12 million.

We're still 9th in the world in our death rate from COVID-19, among countries with more than a million people. 12th overall. We are a few days from having had 1/1000th (0.1%) of our people die from it.

So once SS became untouchable, the conservatives decide it isn't socialism.   I'd say the government collecting money,  then controlling the distribution of that money as pensions to workers, is socialism.   So is public education -- government produces a thirteen year course of training for children,  mandates everyone pay into it,  and controls every aspect of its operation.   Once most people decided that was an essential system,  conservatives decided "not socialism. "

Once again,  fools will conflate democratic socialism with some totalitarian boogeyman.

If we’re trying to limit the spread in our prison population, a worthy goal, vaccinate them all, after people who are important to our national health, security, and economy are vaccinated of course.

Well, except there is no “ public 13 year course” mandated by the Government. Each state is broken down into school districts run  by locally elected boards of education.  That fact alone destroys your argument.

You just don't get it, Ward.

It was never socialism.

That was the point of the illustration.

That they were not socialism did not stop your confreres from claiming it was.

You all lie about this stuff in an effort to have your way.

I don’t know where to put my money on this epic mental decline foot race between Ward and Kiid. They each sink farther faster than any previous record holders, spurring each other on to new lows.

Mitch might not be as powerful as he’d want to seem come January.

http://m.dailykos.com/stories/2020/12/13/2001841/-Can-Kamala-Neuter-Moscow-Mitch-Senate-rule-of-recognition

Since the the Moscow muppet doesn’t really like traditions anyway, I think we’re all ready for a VP that takes actively presiding over the Senate to its ultimate level.

"your way" may include

the good socialism like

-socialism for investors via investment tax credit and lower tax rates (capital gains, carried interest)

-socialism for agribusiness via  subsidies for all sorts of agricultural products

-socialism for the oil and gas industries with tax credits and depletion allowances

and other preferred government socialist programs for the private sector

paid for by reducing funding for the bad socialism like social security and Medicare
