I think today was a horrible example of law enforcement.

Nothing at all wrong with the protest itself.  Those that went too far deserved for the law to come down on them.  But it sure seemed like the Red Sea did part for some reason.  Awaiting answers.  Mayor was understandably non committal as she tries to sort things out.  But she bears a bit more responsibility than she is taking.  (Deniro voice) - "a little bit, yeah..."

Nope.

Mayor requested National Guard yesterday

Capitol building is federal jurisdiction therefore responsibility of Capitol Police.

Metro PD has gone in and swept the rioters out of Capitol.

Do you know what FEDERAL means?

It was your people - the venerable JAKE TAPPER  to be specific - that were all over the Mayor.

DC wasnt ready.  Funny.

Fuck Jake Tapper!

When FNC  repeatedly ied about Obama the Administration’s Comms said Fox wasn’t news and didn’t deserve a seat in the press room.

Jake Tapper DEMANDED Fox be treated as a news org.

Good going, Jake.

Watch how deep he digs into the Biden Administration’s ass to demonstrate his impartiality.

According to this artilce she requestion the National Guard on NY Eve.

https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-donald-trump-politics-electoral-college-muriel-bowser-1634bf71a27de48efef3cd1e6ed4abe4

According to a U.S. defense official, Bowser put in a request on New Year’s Eve to have Guard members on the streets from Tuesday to Thursday to help with the protests.

BUT

Because D.C. does not have a governor, the designated commander of the city’s National Guard is Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy. Any D.C. requests for Guard deployments have to be approved by him.

Kid-I'm sure you'd agree this bolsters DC's case for statehood-the protection of its law-abiding resdients and tourists from white trash deplorable invaders.

This was not a today thing. This was a months in the works thing.

Mob terrorism, with every tool from Capone to 9/11 available to be arrayed against it.

Says thee of "Keep marching" fame.
Cheering the violent other mob at every turn..."change".

You really don’t see the difference between folks asking/demanding to be treated like human beings and folks who are pissed because their side lost an election?

Of course you don’t.

There is a difference in protesting to change a law or system or enforcement of such and protest to replace the rule of law with the rule of a sagging bloated idiot.

One is the democratic process while the other is pure assfuckery with clear projections into the criminal.

Even longer given who the modern Republican Party has liked to play footsie with.

Absolutely, but for prosecutors to finish their work in a reasonable interval and publish results, etc., I’m happy to restrict the sheer scale of the investigation by focus on those involved in recent months.

Republican congresswoman says she will reverse position on challenging election results
From CNN’s Andy Rose

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, a Republican from Washington state, will reverse her position on challenging the presidential election results.

“We must have a peaceful transfer of power. The only reason for my objection was to give voice to the concern that governors and courts unilaterally changed election procedures without the will of the people and outside of the legislative process. I have been consistent in my belief that Americans should utilize the constitutional tools and legal processes available to seek answers to their questions about the 2020 election. What we have seen today is unlawful and unacceptable," McMorris Rodgers said in a statement today.

McMorris Rodgers added: "I have decided I will vote to uphold the Electoral College results and I encourage Donald Trump to condemn and put an end to this madness.”

Twitter on Wednesday removed three tweets from President Trump in which he repeated claims of voter fraud while his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol. The tweets have been hidden from view until the president deletes them and his account will be locked until 12 hours after the offending tweets are deleted.

I'm thinking he will move to another platform where he can keep being the adored center of his moronic circle jerk.

It turns out that the protesters did not barge past the barricades.

The police let them in:
