President Trump will not resign. Nor will he turn power over to Vice President Pence and ask him for a pardon, according to top White House advisers who have spoken with the highest ranking members of Mr. Trump's Cabinet, including Treasury Secretary Mnuchin, Pence and chief of staff Mark Meadows.

Why such slack security at the Capitol that day, in comparison to prior events?
It's being suggested by some that it could've been a trap to snare Trump and his supporters...and that it worked perfectly...but the deaths not anticipated.

The GOP can rise again...but it would have to do things the bambu-ilk way.

How many psychologists does it take to change a lightbulb?

All the GOP has to do is find an American ScoMo and family and adopt all the policies detailed in the link.
Not rocket science, surely they can follow and adopt the plan.

I said all along that the Michigan Incident where the Capitol was breached and occupied by armed insurrectionists was a wake up call and likely a dress rehearsal.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/09/asia/north-korea-nuclear-development-intl-hnk/index.html

Kim Jong Un says North Korea is developing tactical nukes, new warheads and a nuclear-powered submarine

Boy, it sure is a good thing that Trump "stood up to Nth Korea," Bambu.

Biden won't be able to do any better.
Think we'll be waiting a long time to hear Biden or Ms Harris tell NK it will cease to exist if it attacks the US or one of its allies.

Can't answer the question? It's key to your point, Bambu.

Because they don't treat gatherings of whites the same as gatherings of Blacks, Bambu. You can trace it backwards through the news and see for yourself.

But also, "some" think there was collusion on the part of the police.

It was not, apparently, a wake up call to the CP.

I don't think Biden will be able to do appreciably better, either, Bambu.

But I also don't think Biden expects to - the problem wasn't how poorly Trump did, but that he allowed himself to believe that he had some kind of special relationship with Kim, when Kim was playing him like a violin.

And I severely doubt that the public will hear Biden threaten Kim with annihilation for stepping out of line. Biden has diplomats to do that for him and do to it privately.

Diplomatically.

I also doubt Biden will meet the Kim 3x and exchange love letters.
Trump believed Kim when he said he's give up his entire nuclear program.
About as credible as trump's threat to wipe out NK.

It's hard to annihilate North Korea when Seoul and most of South Korea's population reside 30 miles away from the border.  Also, the Chinese tend to be touchy about Western invasion and puppet govts set up on their border.
And oh yeah, those pesky nuclear weapons.  Would be easy for NK to annihilate Seoul and most South Koreans and embedded US military there.

Trump got nothing accomplished with NK despite giving them the respect that comes with multiple summits with the US president.  The NK nuke program continued and developed under Trump, only slowed down when one of their testing sites partially collapsed (from repeated explosions).

You've been told not to pass along lies heard on the radio.

It was the exact opposite.  Cops wanted the crowd to succeed to terrorize congress.

As the attack on the Capitol was unfolding, OAN was reporting that it was possibly led by Antifa agents implanted in the MAGA crowd to make them look bad.

When you believe conspiracy theories and reality denialism, you'r always looking for the next conspiracy theory to justify your side.

From a WaPo article:

Quote
The Capitol, more than most buildings, has a vast cellular and wireless data infrastructure of its own to make communications efficient in a building made largely of stone and that extends deep underground and has pockets of shielded areas. Such infrastructure, such as individual cell towers, can turn any connected phone into its own tracking device.

Phone records make determining the owners of these devices trivially easy. Congressional investigators and federal prosecutors can also identify devices and users who may have connected wittingly or automatically to congressional guest WiFi networks — unless rioters made a point of deactivating their devices or leaving them behind during the takeover.

When engaging in illegal behavior, it's best to leave your mobile tracking device elsewhere.  You know, send your one Qanon friend with asthma to sit in a nearby bar with a dufflebag filled with dozens of phones.  Later claim you were all there having beers at that time.

Actually, as soon as investigators notice that 2 or 3 of those arrested didn't have phones and that their phones were all located at the same place, the gig could be up.  Though that takes a little police perseverance.  And not as easy as bringing your personal tracking device with you and recording your illegal acts.

Another thing the police/FBI should be and no doubt are doing is checking the flight records of planes into DC in the last 3 days prior to the Trump led rally and insurrection.  I'm sure plenty from the East Coast drive, but the ones form farther afield flew in.  Certainly true of Ashli form San Diego and the Midland TX flower lady who engaged in no vandalism except kicking down Pelosi's office door and stealing her gavel and a laptop and...

One thing which has annoyed me the entire Trump era is this notion that a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime.  Fuck that.
Bill Clinton had to answer for a civil lawsuit, but the president when it's a Republican can't be charged with a crime?  It was just a BS partisan legal opinion, much like under W Bush when torture was politically determined to not be torture.

Criminal laws apply to the President as well as anybody else.
Why wouldn't they?
Trump can shoot someone on 5th Avenue and can't be prosecuted?  Does that make any sense?  There might be practical issues making a prosecution for more political crimes, such as bribery or obstruction of justice, somewhat tricky.  But the laws still apply and the president still can be charged.

There is no “Capitol” in Seattle.
Well, yes there is. It was known as Capitol Hill until the June riots when it became known as the
Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ),also known as Free Capitol Hill, the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest, or the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP).

I’m surprised you don’t remember.
Do you think you refuted my point?
Yes. In spades.
Especially Given the post you were referring to.
Not to mention your insults.
No, the post he referred to from bambu spoke of protesters occupying "the Capitol" in Seattle. Not Capitol Hill. The Capitol is in Olympia. So, no, you didn't refute his post, in spades or otherwise. "Especially G[sic]iven the post [he was] referring to."
Exactly the post I referred to.
Thanks .
You won’t cite it since YankGuy clearly misunderstood it.
The Capitol, the phrase bambu used, refers to a building where the government sits.
Well, no.
He was referring to a neighborhood called Capitol Hill (cum CHAZ after the riots).
But you and YankGuy know that. You two just don’t like Bambu.
That’s why you both use insults to bolster a silly debate over nothing.
Is there a Capitol in Seattle? Continue to say yes, and continue to be wrong.
There is a Capitol Hill which is what Bambu clearly was referring to. His post is unmistakable.
Which is why you won’t repeat it.
I quoted it. If I misquoted him repost his comment. You are the one saying he meant something he did not actually say.
