Part of Trump's legacy:

The American jobs crisis is escalating again. States have ratcheted up their virus-prevention measures to combat rising infection rates, and the job market has taken it on the chin.

Another 965,000 people filed for first-time unemployment benefits on a seasonally adjusted basis in the United States last week, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

That was substantially higher than the previous week, when 784,000 Americans filed for unemployment benefits, and far worse than economists had expected.

Weekly first-time jobless claims are stuck at an uncomfortably high level. In late August, the figure dropped below 1 million, but since then, significant improvements have been hard to come by -- and last week represented a huge step in the wrong direction. Without seasonal adjustments, initial claims are back up above a million, which is a terrifyingly high number and more than three times more than in the same period last year.

The GOP, they always crash the car, and then the Dems have to clean up the mess.

It's the history of the last century.

That’s why the republican party is best understood as a terrorist organization. Terror has been their most profitable and often used tool for at least half a century.

Remember, as a party, republicans are unable to form a platform. It’s no surprise they have put themselves collectively in rebellion against the rule of law.

Boebert has intentionally tried to stir things up, has supported Trump's fictional election fraud, and has made Congress a more dangerous place by carrying her fun around and making it more likely other GOPers will as well.

- actually she is NOT allowed to carry the gun into halls of Congress

- actually she's a major league asshole...

There are 3 million fewer jobs currently than when the coup started in 2016. That’s a lot of restaurants.

Trump is an utter failure, a permanent disqualifying stain on each and every one of his supporters.

Maga terrorists being arrested at the airport.   Play with sound on for full satisfaction as the Maga losers cry in fake pain.

One even ironically states he is being treated like a black person.  You can't make this shit up.

Rudy is getting the Bill Cosby treatment:

Middlebury College has made the decision to revoke the honorary degree it presented to the presidential attorney Rudolph Giuliani in 2005, and has communicated this to Mr. Giuliani's office," the college said in a statement on January 12.

Curious why he ever got one, the little shit.

Because he was lionized as “America’s Mayor” after his pre 9/11 security fuck up put him in the Na national spotlight  on 9/11.

Agree. But there is no way to effectively indicate sarcasm in a post.

Yeah, right. </sarcasm>

I think Bambu was wrong (nor should that surprise anybody) with his assessment of the political prospects of those who voted to impeach and those who would vote to convict President Trump. Not totally wrong - a bunch of those folks are going to have a hard time.

But...
https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/14/politics/tom-rice-south-carolina-impeachment/index.html

Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC) explained his vote very effectively, IMO, and while it might get him primaried in 2022, I expect he will win that pretty easily - and while I don't expect him to run for president, I don't think this vote would hurt him in such a run nearly as much as it would help him.

My radio US correspondent (an older and respected American man) just said...most Republicans are hardworking, decent people and there is anger on the Right.
He also said that the impeachment of Trump by the Democrats is purely political, and devoid of due process.
He also said that a Republican woman politician will be "impeaching Biden on his first day in office...re Ukrainian energy companies etc and the Biden crime family"...or something like that.

Boy, you sure chose a funny way to illustrate "decent people."

Given that the head of the GOP Senators disagrees with your "radio US correspondent" and so did a bunch of folks in the GOP in the House, including some with no political motivations, I would have to say, as usual, Bambu, that you need to find something different to listen to.

Your correspondent is being PURELY POLITICAL and you are swallowing it wholesale.

Pay attention.  Week to week.  Restaurant jobs, right?

The hook in you lip doesn’t make anyone but Bambu more inclined to kiss you.

About half the jobs in question are in restaurants and the hospitality industry, probably as a result of it becoming clear that trump has failed to achieve a vaccine rollout commensurate with the crisis.

Republicans promote failure. It’s why their biggest failure is at the top of their party.

I removed my post after realizing who I was responding to.

Next case.

A winner, like Rudy, as ever.

Are you ready to move on to your personal failings, now we’ve established the abject failure of all your political affiliations?
