Trump has also decided to pardon Steve Bannon.

This will make Bannon's testimony in various federal courts harder to dodge with the 5th or anything else.

I sure hope it comes back to bite Trump hard on the ass.

Bannon’s owners tend to silence their minions more directly when the rubber hits the road. I wonder if it was a blanket pardon or in reference to particular of Steve’s criminal acts.

Well, the trial is set for May, so....

Way to keep up.

Nothing that was said has anything related to your asinine "way to keep up."

ETA: Bannon's own trial date is totally unrelated to what I'm discussing.

While Kid pretends to honest evaluation of Jim Acosta, he is silent as Maria Bartiromo falsely claimed during her Fox Business show that the mob that stormed the US Capitol was "infiltrated" by Democrats who dressed in MAGA clothes.

Whatabout.........

heh

Like John Sullivan?  eh?

You mean "John Harris," don't you?

You're the one who told me not to bother commenting about John Sullivan, dickhead.

You brought up Acosta.  He's a fool - and on a very low rated network

That finished ahead of Fox News, a lower rated network.

Trump leaves office with DOW near 31k

Not only isn't the stock market not the economy, but the Top 1% wealthiest Americans own 40% of all stocks, while 85% of stocks are owned by the Top 10%.
So it's mostly a matter of the rich getting richer under a GOP president.  What a surprise.  Trump's Trillion $ tax cut resulted in lots of already cash-flush corporations buying back their stocks to pump up their stock prices for their already wealthy investors and executives.  With hardly a ripple in the real economy where the other 90% live.  The economy always does better under DEM presidents than under GOP.  The Clinton Boom was bigger than the Reagan Boom.
While big financial crashes and scandals always occur under GOP rule.

Fwiw,
Quote
From Trump's inauguration day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose from 19,827 to 30,930 on Tuesday, a 56 percent increase.

That increase is below the 73.2 percent rise the Dow saw in Obama's first term, or the 105.8 percent increase under Clinton's first term.

Trump leaves office with 31% approval.  Lowest ever recorded.
Wonder why?

Except he left with 51% Approval.
And a booming stock Market,
And the highest average wage for working Americans, ever.
Not to mention the highest employment rate of minorities, ever.

Yes Red, of course, and in due time the south will rise again.

Regarding Bannon’s seemingly cancelled May play date with our judiciary, now there’s no federal prosecution what state charges related to his insidious acts milking the trumpies at the expense of Brown Americans’ safety now have precedence to proceed? A few jump to mind, but which have the stiffest penalties for his kind of fraud?

Broken clock....
China ... Muslims ... Pompeo

Reportedly during his honeymoon phase with China, Trump basically told President Xi that if China was having trouble with terrorist Muslims in its far West than they had the right/duty to stomp them.  Basically greenlighting the mass incarceration and reeducation camps.  Seems rather cowardly to denounce the consequences on their last day on office.

I had heard chatter that Pompeo was considering/intending to run in 2024 and I mostly dismissed it.  But Pomp has made a lot of publicity seeking noise lately, especially throwing red meat to the Trumpeter base.  And if you look around, who is going to inherit Trump's base?   His family members are too corrupt and inept.  Jared is too privileged and milquetoast and annoying, and isn't nearly conservative enough on social issues.  No firebrand in him.

So Pompeo is making a play as a Trump loyalist with experience and action under his belt.  Pence could challenge Pompeo for Trump loyalists.  With Cruz and Hawley trying hard to get in the mix.  Interesting.

Last Trump Job Approval 34%; Average Is Record-Low 41%

Gallup has Trump as the only president never to reach 50%.
So no he didn't leave office at 51%.
34% approval according to Gallup.
Which is mainly just hard core right wing racists and plutocrats at this point.

Interestingly, Trump hit his high water mark of 49% during the early days of the Trumpdemic in a rally-around-the-president-in-time-of-crisis mode, when it looked like his Admin was actually going to do something constructive.  Instead we got the Daily Trump Show until that got cancelled and the worst outbreak of CV of any country on the planet.

There was definitely an opportunity for Trump to deal with the virus responsibly, maturely, follow the science and be a leader.  Many fewer Americans would have gotten sick and died, and Trump would have had a good chance to be reelected.

Instead Trump politicized the virus, abdicated leadership which he punted to 50 governors, never had a national strategy, promoted unproven medicines, held super-spreader events, tried to force Blue states to open their economies and promote transmission, and in the end couldn't protect his workplace, his family or himself.  And didn't even try to protect the country.  A horrible narcissistic failure.

I assumed Bannon would get a pardon, as he faces an actual indictment, and he's been advising Trump again (after everyone else has fled).

One thing interesting is that most reports are saying that Trump wasn't going to pardon any insurrectionists or Assange or some other controversial figures because he is concerned with the Senate trial for impeachment and doesn't want to create a GOP backlash.

So there's another good thing about the 2nd impeachment.  I figured it wasted Trump's time in his final week and distracted him from doing further gov't vandalism.  And cements his place as the worst president ever.  And underscores the Capitol Insurrection as the highly dangerous and unacceptable event it was, and places blame on the Inciter in Chief.

But if Impeachment 2.0 also changed Trump's pardon calculus and constrained his pardon power, than that's another win for democracy.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/20/americas/pfizer-canada-vaccine/index.html

(CNN)Frustration visibly boiled over with some Canadian leaders Tuesday as Pfizer told Canada that it would not receive any vaccine doses next week due to the continuing manufacturing disruptions at its facility in Belgium.

Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sought to reassure Canadians that vaccine deliveries would pick up again in a few weeks and that the overall goal, to have every willing Canadian vaccinated by September, would remain on track.

But it was Ontario's Premier Doug Ford who bluntly voiced the frustration of many provincial leaders as Pfizer continues to cut its vaccine delivery schedule to Canada.

"We got to be on these guys like a blanket, I'd be outside that guy's house. Every time he moved, I'd be saying, 'Where's our vaccines?' Other people are getting them, the European Union is getting them, why not Canada? That's my question to Pfizer, we need your support," said Ford during a Tuesday news conference.

Canada's supply of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine comes from the European allotment and not from nearby manufacturing facilities in the US, since the Trump administration made it clear vaccines would not be exported.

"There's a plant, a Pfizer plant, six hours in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with the Americans," Ford said. "My American friends help us out, we need help once again as we did with the PPE. You have a new President, no more excuses we need your support, and we look forward to your support and that's a direct message to President (Joe) Biden, 'help out your neighbor.'"

Ford made a direct plea to President-elect Joe Biden for a million vaccines for Canada.

The incoming Biden administration is unlikely to release vaccine doses for export in the short term as Biden transition officials have stated they are uncertain of the current supply of vaccines available in the US.

Dumped trump had to pardon both of his campaign managers from 2016. That alone might keep him off Rushmore.

Any of the family pardons are of the double secret type.

Did anyone inform trump (or Devin Nunes) that they’ll be reopening the Russia investigation sometime in the next 72 hours?

Happy inauguration everyone. Stay safe. Stay or get sane or have fun trying.

Trump did many good things in his 4 years.

One thing that set off the protesters/invaders off was seeing on their tv screens actual ballot paper proof that some people voted multiple times.
