I linked to Gallup who never had Trump above 49% the whole 4 years.

No idea what your 51% nonsense refers to.
But I assume its Rasmussen or some other right-skewed poll.
If there was really a poll with Trump at 51%.
Gallup has been doing this a long time and has a good rep as far as I know.

Sad that Trump's tantrums and undermining of democracy and insurrection incitement necessitates 20K troops to protect the inauguration.

Even if you fold in Rass and that other RW skewed poll,  538 shows a poll-of-polls averaging at 39%.  It's pretty obvious who the landline-skewed outliers are.

Good overnight posts.   Bo,  Josh,  and Fac taking down propagandistic baloney that TBH I am tired of mopping up after -- don't know how you guys can sustain that.  Trolls are indefatigable because they are sustained by unwavering belief systems impregnable to facts or logic.

watching Trump fly-off to Sinatra's to "My Way" was a weird and fitting exit.

"His way" damn near destroyed this country.

Lets hope we get past his way.

I'm just glad he didn't go with Sinatra's "That's Life"

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet
A pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing
Each time I find myself
Flat on my face
I pick myself up and get
Back in the race

God help us and God bless the United States of America

Trump leaves office with DOW near 31k

Not only isn't the stock market not the economy, but the Top 1% wealthiest Americans own 40% of all stocks, while 85% of stocks are owned by the Top 10%.
So it's mostly a matter of the rich getting richer under a GOP president.  What a surprise.  Trump's Trillion $ tax cut resulted in lots of already cash-flush corporations buying back their stocks to pump up their stock prices for their already wealthy investors and executives.  With hardly a ripple in the real economy where the other 90% live.  The economy always does better under DEM presidents than under GOP.  The Clinton Boom was bigger than the Reagan Boom.
While big financial crashes and scandals always occur under GOP rule.

Fwiw,
Quote
From Trump's inauguration day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose from 19,827 to 30,930 on Tuesday, a 56 percent increase.

That increase is below the 73.2 percent rise the Dow saw in Obama's first term, or the 105.8 percent increase under Clinton's first term.

Trump leaves office with 31% approval.  Lowest ever recorded.
Wonder why?

51%

36% strong approve

Likely your 31 referred to that second number - polled by a different group.  And the overall is much higher

Trump never lost the deplorables.

Say what you will about thier blind faith to the fascist killer clown, but they were loyal or just too damn stupid to see what was going on.

Ted Cruz, who was urging sedition two weeks ago, was just seen at the Inauguration minutes ago---taking selfies.

What a despicable creature.

Trump's 20-min farewell video was a bunch of trumped up nonsense mostly, at turns mawkish, defiant, presidential.

What got me laughing hardest:
"Another administration would take 3, 4, 5 maybe even 9 years to develop a vaccine, we did it in 9 months."

Trump can't help larding on the BS.
(and Pfizer did it in 9 months without US gov't help/involvement)

I wonder if 51% of white Americans still support Trump.

He probably has a majority of white males.

I would like to see race breakdowns of Trump's disapproval ratings.

“When a man unprincipled in private life desperate in his fortune...despotic in his ordinary demeanour—known to have scoffed in private at the principles of liberty—when such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularity—to join in the cry of danger to liberty—to take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government & bringing it under suspicion—to flatter and fall in with all the nonsense of the zealots of the day—It may justly be suspected that his object is to throw things into confusion that he may ‘ride the storm and direct the whirlwind.”

Hate to say it but how would they deal with a coordinated 3 or 4 drone attack on the inauguration?

Why would you like to continue down the path of examining everything through a racial lens?

Trump did many good things in his 4 years.

One thing that set off the protesters/invaders off was seeing on their tv screens actual ballot paper proof that some people voted multiple times.

But they didn't.

They saw what was purported to be "actual ballot paper proof," but it was a sham.

A few people were caught having done that - a couple in this state, one in that, etc. Note that they were caught.

Yes it was proven that people voted multiple times.
Hence the distrust of the system.

That somebody has done that every national election has been proven many times, Bambu.

The distrust comes from lies about its being widespread. Repeated lies.

Oddly enough, just like the soon to be former majority leader of the Senate, Mitch McConnell, said.

Lies about rampant fraud and stolen elections.
