One legal voter - one vote

What could be more fair?

Which is what we had this past election.

But what could be more fair is to stop putting fucking roadblocks in the way of those voters.

What could be more fair is to do away with gerrymandering - by both parties.

What could be more fair is to reinstate the Voting Rights Act for those places that have been playing games with their polling locations and their ID rules.

What could be more fair, as already note, is to admit that the lies told about this past election by people ranging from Trump to Graham to a broad host of others - and to publicize those admissions.

Heritage Action for America, a conservative nonprofit tied to the right-leaning think tank The Heritage Foundation, on Monday will announce that it plans to spend $10 million on efforts to tighten election security laws in eight key swing states.

The details of the effort, first obtained by Fox News, will include digital and television ads, volunteer issue advocacy campaigns and lobbying state legislatures directly. Heritage Action will target Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, Texas and Wisconsin, all considered key swing states after the 2020 election.

"Fair elections are essential for every policy debate in the future," Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson said in a statement. "We are working to help state lawmakers restore trust in our elections, ensure transparency, and protect the rights of every American to a fair election. This is our number one priority, and we are committed to doing whatever it takes."

Let's go!!!
Create an issue where none exists and propose a cure that advances their electoral prospects! Nothing to see here!

Republicans had valid points that it wasn't.

And want to tighten up voting rules to assure there is no question who wins.

Again - what is the problem with this?

1. There were no valid points that the election was anything but honest, fair, legal and above board. None. There was no legitimate question about who won. None.

2. And all of the supposed "tightening up" involves depressing minority votes and making voting by legitimate legal voters harder. Because TKTPS.

The claim that their points were valid is one problem with it.

The fact that their proposed solutions does nothing to address any real problem that exists is another.

And their refusal to address gerrymandering, voter exclusion, polling place shenanigans, and voter ID manipulation, which illustrates that their claims about wanting fair elections are bogus.

I stand by what I posted

As for suppressing votes, why cant minorities, especially if its a mail in, vote properly?

What Dems want is ballot harvesting.  They want to be able to vote FOR those that otherwise would not bother (read:  do not care).  Therefore -

a)  mail in
b)  no sig
c)  anyone can collect
d)
e)
f)
and so on

Current standard- if mail in is adopted, has voters  needing to pay attention to their mail - then

a)  paying for or borrowing a stamp (not even sure this is necessary)
b)  filling out properly and then signing a document
and most importantly
c)  caring enough to do it

If they do not care to go through a simple process why should their vote be tallied?

They do. They did. They used legal methods to vote. Indeed, they use those methods, properly and legally, more than whites. And Repos want to narrow those options to shave off as many votes as they can.

You think mail in ballots have no signature requirements? Interesting. And.do you know whaf.vote har esting even is? There is nothing inherently wrong with it if a state wants to allow it. That is why Republicans liked it i. Arizona before they realized Dems do it too. Churches, for instance, are a big source for that, as an aside to poor and elderly who may have otherwise have problems voting. Or far flung communities like the reservations. Ballots still have to be authenticated.

They do. They did in 2020. Legally and without any legitimate issue.

And none of that stuff is what Repos are proposing.

Ballots still need to be authenticated

But they weren't this past election.   Signatures were detached from ballots.  And many not signed at all.

My shock when starting to vote here in town was that theyw erent requiring ID

Then I figured - well - at least they are doinga  nice job matching sigs.

But now...with mail in.....

its the Wild West

And yeah, I expect Republicans to try to get away with what they can in whatever system is put forth for 2022.  (the huge issue of coiurse for 2020 being that said system as modified midstream and not by legislatures - something that will not occur next time out)

In a phone call to the Georgia secretary of state's office in December, then-President Donald Trump urged a top investigator to find fraud in the 2020 presidential election, telling her that she would be "praised" for overturning results that were in favor of Joe Biden, according to newly reported audio of the call obtained by The Wall Street Journal.

The report is the latest example of Trump's extraordinary efforts to influence Georgia election officials as they certified the results, even though there is no evidence of widespread fraud in the election. Trump's actions have drawn the attention of Georgia's Republican secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, as well as a Fulton County prosecutor who has launched a criminal investigation.

"When the right answer comes out, you'll be praised," Trump tells Frances Watson, the chief investigator at the Georgia secretary of state's office, in a six-minute conversation on December 23, according to the Journal.

So treason is a "non-story".

Okay.
