He lives to keep score (when he's winning).

Sure

A driven individual.

Yes you could say that.  Problem is what it is that drives him.

For example, Sessions is by all accounts enacting Trump's agenda in Justice (to the detriment of the US and what it stands for...) and yet he has been "driven" to berate and insult and openly discuss his firing why?  All because he recused himself in an investigation into Trump, will not insulate the "President" into an investigation in to the campaign of Trump , showing insufficient loyalty to Trump, and can do nothing to prevent State and Federal investigations into the shady business dealings of Trump.

We get what drives Trump.  Its not something to be admired.

Democrat Andrew Gillum rode a surge of liberal support from young people and African Americans to a stunning primary victory Tuesday and the historic opportunity to be the first black governor in Florida’s history.
With 94 percent of the votes counted, Gillum had an unofficial 3 percentage point lead over his closest rival, former U.S. Rep. Gwen Graham. Gillum overwhelmed Graham in Miami-Dade and Broward, the state’s two largest Democratic counties, by more than a 2-to-1 margin, in the highest turnout for a midterm primary election in Florida history.

What the hell good is a voter ID law if this is allowed to happen.?

LOL

Democratic voters are energized during this mid-term season maybe like never before.  That says zero about the state's voter ID requirements.
Thanks for making my point.

Also, without exactly stating it, a lot of us see this midterm as the crossroads between our nation living or dying.

That you bring a snowball into the forum and think you've made a point about global warming is my point.

And that you either can not or refuse to see the logical fallacy here is not surprising.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/trump-told-christian-leaders-he-got-rid-law-he-didn-n904471

a) The Liar-in-Chief claims to have gotten rid of the law that forbids churches and charitible organizations from endorsing candidates. The law is still on the books.

b) He threatened them and in so doing threatened all of us: he promised violence if the GOP lost in November. And he claimed that the evangelicals were 'one election from losing everything.'

Demagoguery.

They are desperate to keep the House lest the gravy train stop, and Congress retain the oversight role of the Executive that Ryan and McConnell have handicapped.

And to do that, demagoguery is all they have left. That there “President” would say something like this is not surprising. That people are not up in arms about it, including members of the GOP, is worrisome.

And it’s not just the “President” who is attacking loyal Americans:

Speaker Ryan’s PAC is trying to link a Democratic Congressional candidate to terrorism because she briefly taught English at an Islamic school in suburban Washington while waiting for the security clearance she received to become a counter-terrorism agent for the CIA

https://mobile.twitter.com/JohnJHarwood/status/1034644785326436354

The source of those unredacted documents Ryan’s PAC used to make this claim, btw, is a really important question:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/28/us/politics/cia-officer-house-election-super-pac.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage

And in case you thought this wasn't part of a larger strategy, here is another one (with some Racism thrown in)

new GOP ad (from Paul Ryan-allied super PAC) links OH-01 Democrat @AftabPureval, who is of Indian and Tibetan descent, to his law firm's work for Libya, overlaid with images from the 1988 Lockerbie terrorist bombing, & states he "can't be trusted."

The U.S.Commerce Department said its broadest measure of profits across the U.S. economy rose 16.1% from the second quarter a year earlier, the largest year-over-year gain in six years.
Taxes were a big part of the boost to the bottom line. Taxes paid by U.S. companies were down 33% from a year earlier, according to the new government data, or more than $100 billion at an annual rate.
But strong underlying economic growth was also a factor. The Commerce Department revised up its estimate of how fast the economy grew in the second quarter, to an annual rate of 4.2% from an earlier estimate of 4.1%.
If there was a soft spot, it was from the rest of the world: Corporate earnings from outside of the U.S. dropped, while domestic earnings boomed.

According to those WSJ numbers, 75% of profit growth is directly the money those companies aren’t paying in taxes, showing the “sugar high” effect of moronic GOP policy is incredibly weak and has basically no ripple effect. Not to worry though. The downstream negative effects of the “sugar high” wearing off will be extra severe to make up for it. Trump policies will be yuge, bigly. The yugeness will all be in the direction of making things worse through corruption, ineptitude, apathy and general moral failing.

This while inflation rises and real wages continue to fall.

Working people in America know republican corruption has got to stop.

No control for fascist trolls.

Corporate profits are skyrocketing because of corporate tax cuts?  That's a surprise.  And a big relief too.  I mean, while wages for workers are actually going down, its great to know the CEOs will be getting theirs.
