I'm always amazed that actual adults drink Coca-Cola.

These hearings are boring . . .

I'm watching ABC (randomly chosen) and they also have no commentary, until the breaks.

A grumpy asshole.
The less Grassley talks, the better for the GOP, methinks.
But I guess they need/want some pushback against the DEM characterizations.  And are stuck with Grassley, as they don't want the female prosecutor to look partisan.

He's the Chairman.  Running the show.  The prosecutor could not act as he is acting.

as do all networks

To think they would provide commentary during the 5 minute segs is silly

But Utley had to get his "I listen to NPR" point across

heh

Get the distinct feeling the FBI are gonna be charged to investigate.

If Flake, Murkowski and Collins do not require an FBI investigation and sworn testimony from Judge before any possibility of their giving a "yes" vote, then their images as moderates will be revealed to be entirely fake.

I thought you said he was already toast

I did.  He is.

She has 5 minutes of each GOP senators time.  She could say whatever she wanted -- make speeches or ask questions.  She could use some of the time to counter the DEMs, just as Grassley is doing with his Chairman's time.  However, her role here is to ask questions (and try to undermine Ford).

To answer your other question, the DEMs railing agsinst the process -- lack of FBI investigation, no Judge subpoena, etc -- is about the only interesting thing so far.  Besides actually seeing Ford.

I did miss the first 45 mins or so, the opening remarks and such

Ford seems fragile and nervous.
Prosecutor should ask her if she takes any meds for her anxiety or PTSD.

I think its obvious they decided not to go that route, which is why she is there in the first place

Hence they are stuck with grumpy Grassley, just as I said initially.

Grassley's only grandstand has been that Feinstein should have provided the information more quickly after Ms Ford came forward.

And he is of course right on the mark.

Leahy looks/sounds pretty damn old.
78.  But he's seemed old for decades.

I wish Ford was more assertive.
Would like to see her say that Judge should be required to testify and she wonders whether he'd perjure himself for Kavanaugh.
Note that if he could support Kav's story, why wouldn't he want to come forward, etc.

I'd like to hear more from Ford's lawyer who isn't intimidated and quiet in the face of these hearings.

So you think Grassley is doing a good job?

In the Senate?

I don't know.

Today - sure.  Hasn't been much to do.

I especially liked the part where he ignored Senator Harris and her plea for copies of every chart.
